LeEco Android

Today LeEco has officially announced the first two smartphones it's going to be selling in the US. The Chinese company is ambitiously moving to cover that market, even before much older rivals such as Xiaomi.

LeEco will offer both the already unveiled Le Pro 3 in the US, as well as the newly outed Le S3. The Pro 3 comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen, a 16 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, and dual-tone LED flash, an 8 MP selfie snapper, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset at the helm, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a fingerprint scanner on the back, a USB Type-C port (and no 3.5mm headset jack), and a 4,070 mAh battery. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

LeEco Le Pro 3

The high-end smartphone will go for just $399 unlocked, with an additional $100 instant rebate available if you sign up for the company's LeRewards scheme.

To complement the Le Pro 3 in its lineup, LeEco has created the Le S3. This model has a 5.5-inch 1080p touchscreen too and the same cameras, but swaps the Snapdragon 821 for a SD652 and only has 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a 3,000 mAh battery. This handset will retail for $249 unlocked, and once again you can shave $100 off that through an instant rebate with LeRewards.

LeEco Le S3

LeEco will use flash sales to get its devices into the hands of eager consumers, and it's going to be interesting to see how well this model will do in the US, since it's essentially the first time anyone's tried it. The first flash sale for the Le Pro 3 and Le S3 will take place on November 2 starting at 10 AM PT.

The US version of Le Pro 3 supports LTE Bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/29/30/38. They are not releasing the Chinese version as-is ofcourse.

Leeco needs to get with the program on understanding which 4G LTE bands are compatible with which NA carriers. The X820 did a fine job. The Pro 3 lacks the 700mhz band which is primary band 17 for AT&T.
