I have been owner of lenovo p2 from December 2016 but are really not very satisfied because I had big problems with notifications that never came off screen. In addition the CPU sometimes crashed in 1689Mhz and the battery went down very quickly. Another problem are the videos YouTube, dailymotion and other services that are out of sync with the audio. Also performance is not as good as they say. For me it's an unfinished product.
617, 08 Mar 2017Do Lenovo phones get Android updates? Will this phone get Nougat? Most probably end of April...
I am using Lenovo P2 since past month and i think it is far better than Xiaomi redmi note 4. Because,
1. It has near stock android version. Which is very clean user interface and don't lag.
2.It has super amoled display. Picture quality is very good.
3. It comes with 5100mah battery and 24watt (12v x2a) charger.
4. Front mounted always active fingerprint sensor. You dont have to pickup your phone from table or bed. Just touch it to unlock your phone. It also support navigation gestures which is very cool. Touch to back, touch and hold to recent task.
5. Audio is very loud and clear. No need to increase more than 60% (indoor use)
6. You can hide or change navigation keys position (Back key to the left)
7. Rest of the features are same. It's a good phone for midrangers whose budget is 15k to 20k. And don't like cheap phones.

AnonD-650465, 07 Mar 2017so is P2 better than A5 2017 then in terms of performance based on your definition of performance?P2 dominates A5-7 in terms of "performance".
Does P2 have 2.5 curved glass?
Also how is lenovo's customer care & after sales service in India?

So you're saying that software optimization is what make lenovo P2 better that a5 2017 in terms of performance?
AnonD-650465, 07 Mar 2017what about performance? which is better? Please define "performance" from your expectation(s).
Many Average Joe define "performance" as can play hyper-heavy games. What game title(s) are we looking at? Are we going to keep the game(s) in the background/memory all the time so that can achieve certain ranking/abilities in the game(s)? No point to have very high end SoC when the available RAM is not able to keep the game(s) running in the background...
I would say P2 is "adequate" to handle heavy-title games in highest graphic settings and it won't stutter or overheat even gaming for more than 4 hours straight... P2 also keeps the games/apps running in the background without worrying battery depleting due to background tasks...
Minority define "performance" as able to withstand prolong gaming for more than 4 hours non-stop without stuttering...or "performance" in capturing 4K video without overheating/auto-shutdown.... or "performance" in prolong GPS navigation without loosing satellite lock...
"Performance" is subjective and varies from one person to another....All in all, P2 is the "affordable Google Nexus" for 2017 (which Google has replaced with hyper-expensive Pixel series....).
AnonD-650465, 07 Mar 2017what about performance? which is better?SD 625 is one of the balanced soc in the market. Coming to p2 performance i have not noticed any lag or hang. Lenovo has done good at software to optimise the soc and that reflects in day to day usage. Coming to p2, it has the more or less build quality like the one plus 3.
