Many seems satisfied with the battery backup which means company service centers should be able to differentiate the problematic hardware or the technical bug

I believe what users are reporting but I would suggest to try different conditions with the device.If possible experiment and observe the battery functioning.remove external memory , keep the phone on Airplane mode, charge it full, check with Lenovo's battery app and tell us what it shows.
Moreover try installing sum battery health monitoring app from google play and check if it helps.This is just a check to find the battery health.
Lastly file an RMA request with Lenovo for changing the handset(ppl have tried this already , the company hardly understands). My suggestions are only experimentation with the phone so that this will enlighten other users about the phone

It was difficult to make understand the service centre person about the experience as they always say that it depends on your use etc.I am a moderate user and all 5hr talktime phone used to give me one day batt,But this piece is giving me less than that when they advertised more Batt. I update the software of p700i successfully ,only music app changes ,and all remain same,Any body is getting 22 hrs talktime,pls comment for it.

Arjun , 21 Feb 2013its give me only 8:26 talk time when battery is 100%I bought from chennai, first piece replaced for bad battery backup but second piece also gives the same problem. I am getting only half day backup with normal usage

Anonymous, 20 Feb 2013I have given the set back to the shop and they are doing some investigation on it.I got a new set after replacing the old with battery back up problem, the new one also gives only half day normal usage.
