lg make stylish.. sexy looking fones... but they seem to leave all the features out... stick the 5 mp lens and video they had in the lg viewty and add wireless and a lil more memory to this device and you have yourself a lil competitor... CUASE AT THE MOMENT MY n82 wins all around it!
I have had this phone for about 2 weeks now and i have to say it is the best phone i've ever had!!!
Everything works great on it and the touchscreen is really easy to text on especially for someone like me with big fingers and the t9 is amazing on it also.
dont hesitate if your thinking about getting this phone...GET IT!!
I have the CU920 (TV) model. First thing I noticed was poor battery life. The battery lasts about 36 hours despite very little phone use. I had to switch off the feature that gives you feedback when you touch the screen and that improved battery life to a little more tolerable level. The touch screen makes me "all thumbs." It is tough to type the correct key without using a pen (no stylus is included with the phone). Viewing the web on the tiny screen is a waste... it is too small to be useful and nearly impossible to click on web links.
I have found good call quality in most places. If you are on a call that requires pressing a key during your call, you will find the "unlock screen" button to be a nuisance as the screen locks (and relocks) after about 2 seconds and requires you to repeatedly "unlock" the screen. So those annoying "press one for..." automated services become even more annoying.
The screen gets dirty easy so I would recommend some sort of screen protector. The camera does have one nice feature... it has a self portrait mirror on it so you can take pictures of you and your friends without getting help from someone else.
I don't know how well the TV works on it... service isn't available in our area for now. I also haven't been able to hear the music player because the phone does not come with any hardware to transfer files to it and I don't have anything else that will read/write a 4GB mini micro SD. The phone comes with a battery, a headset, and a wall charger. No instruction manual, only a CD. If you are not near a computer you cannot access instructions. It would be nice if they included an instruction manual, a cable to connect to your computer (so you could download files to the phone), and a protective case. The phone needs to have the GPS system so you could use it like a Garmin and it would be nice if it had a programmable garage door opener, car key fob learner, and univeral remote control. Then the phone would have everything. I am leaning toward returning the phone as I don't think it gives good bang for the buck. It was $149.99 after rebate and not worth more than $49.99 in my opinion.
I have had this phone for about 2 months now, and can give some better feedback on it. But firstly, I must say if you have a higher end cell or PDA by any manufacturer, please don't drop it or break it and then blame the manufacturer- thats just lame.
Pros:
-absolutely gorgeous display screen.
-can take up to 4 GB memory card.
-pc easily recognises phone as a mass storage device, so dragging and dropping files is easy- you don't need LG's software.
-excellent volume on earpiece and speakerphone.
-really fast 3G browsing- get a data plan as it can get expensive real fast.
-menu is very straighforward and easy to learn.
-excellent battery life- 4 days on standby.
-plays gorgeous videos on landscape mode.
-don't need a stylus as touchscreen works great.
-can turn off ringer very easily, as well as increasing ringtone volume.
Cons:
-if you're a lefty, maybe not for you as control keys are all on the right side.
-screen is really hard to read in bright sunlight.
-screen is a finger print magnet.
-no accelerominator or whatever that other phone has- you must push a key for landscape mode.
-a bit big in width, but light.
-has weird LG charging and earphone port.
-QWERTY keyboard a bit small for some fingers.
-can't change message or SMS alert tone, just ringtones.
-a bit expensive maybe.
And if you are prone to dropping stuff, at least buy a snap on clear case for 10 bucks, which will give you some added protection.
I had this phone for around two weeks, specifically the CU915 model. I am not very satisfied with it at all. Everything seemed alright at first and everything was fast, but then the phone seemed to start to go slower. I don't know if it is just me, but the phone takes a long time to load stuff, mainly music and pictures, especially off of a memory card. Besides that, just yesterday I took the phone out of my pocket and the screen was broken on the inside. I didn't drop it once since I got it. I must've leaned on something that made the screen back, but I didn't notice any pressure on the phone. A similar thing happened with my friend. He dropped the phone between his seat and center console in his car and picked it out, and the screen was cracked like mine. If the phones screen breaks that easily, I do not want the phone.
1 thing anoying me about this phone is you cant use a downloaded ringer for your txt ringer
what?? No wifi?? lame!!
does this use sim card ??????????????????????????????
does this have t9 in it i wonder
and do it also set up like the i3G
Im getting this phone on thursday and I watched the youtube vids on it and im loving it!!!!WOOOOOOO
this phone is no where near better than the omnia i mean it has divx & xvid, the omnia is unstoppable
how can u say it's better than the Omnia? 2 megapixel camera.. No Wlan.. No video call.. Interesting..
I just ordered the phone from ATT. So excited. The phone is light skinny and the touchscreen is definitely better than any HTC phone. Not as good as iPhone but at least you're not stuck with the 30$ data plan.
Can you upload video files onto the Micro SD (such as music videos) and watch the videos on the phone for free? Thanks!
First of all can someone tell me what this means AT&T mobile TV (CU920 only)
and handsfree. Also does anyone know when this phone comes out in australia and how much it will be?
Thankyou for ur help
Sarah
