Bought an open line D80210c-HKG-xx. The LTE/4G is not working. The solution seems to be to flash the ROM (which can only be done in Windows platform). Any other advise on this?
After playing it for one day, found out that you cannot change the individual text alert tone. So coupled with no LTE, so far this phone is not living up to my expectations.
This is the latest specs of G3 dated 27 April :
Display size: 5.5-inches
Display density: 2560 x 1440 pixels, 534PPI
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad-core 2.5GHz --- some webs claimed is Qualcomm 801 ???
RAM: 3GB --- some webs claimed 2GB ???
Internal Storage: 32 + microSD card slot for 128GB more
Camera (back): 13-megapixels, 720p @ 120fps (slow motion), 1080p @ 60fps
Camera (front): 2-megapixels, 1080p @ 30fps
Your comments repeated in several reviews about the onscreen home/back/menu buttons are not accurate. Many fullscreen apps cause those buttons to disappear, not just full-screen video: photo gallery also makes them disappear, other full-screen apps, many games do too.
With the photo gallery when you tap to get sharing/editing options the home/back buttons reappear. On other fullscreen apps you can just swipe down from the top to make them come back.
Even on some apps sometimes they don't go away, but you can swipe them smaller (they turn into dots).
T.k.L, 27 Apr 2014I'm planning to buy a phone next week & hv the following phones in mind: galaxy s4 ne... moredude go for lg g2 ! its the best if u want gaming+excellent battery life+performance+sleek design , over all this one is the best. the only con is that the storage is not expandable, so if you are fine with it then just go for it ... the other phones that you have mentioned have some or the other issues as time goes on, and lg g2 has an excellent build quality !
I have to agree the sound quality coming through the earpiece is not great. This should not be a deal breaker for the phone. LG has a great performing device.

the phone is really good...but after the kitkat update, the battery is draining rather quickly. read that google will soon find a solution to this.
If u r buying this phone...get the 32GB model.
I have one and it's great. There's a few changes with the Kitkat (4.4.2) update. The UI has added transparency so icons no longer dominate the screen. Quicker response to actions, more fluid response from the camera and other general speed increases.
What has changed for possibly the worst, interference in the left-channel from the headphone jack, reduction in multi-task performance; this does yield longer times between charges. From a synthetic benchmark point of view, it will seem like your device is under-performing.
Basically it will perform to it's best when pushed although only then; a placebo effect used to sell phones and it worked on me. If I was a gamer, I would still stick with his handset as it is great in most respects.
The rear-mounted buttons are hard to get used to at first and double-tap on the screen is quick and convenient.
In summary, until LG decide to fix the audio glitch and add support for Knock Code (where you choose a shape as code to knock onto the screen) it might not be worth updating to Kitkat just yet.
