This is a good phone and might actually be my favorite because of two reasons - perfect size and removable battery. It's worst aspect is the LG skin is laggy. I just turned off animations and use Textra over the laggy Messages app. Mine is the D724 dual sim model which is also rooted. It offers a decent camera for its price, long battery life especially standby, good audio (external and internal), and I have the gold one which draws alot of stares.
Mine is already 18 months old and I can tell the battery isn't holding up like it used to. Maybe a 10% degrade since I rarely used it the first six months I had it. It will still degrade just by its age. But since it has removable battery, I could use it for as long as I can compared to sealed ones. This phone actually seems better to browse and download than the Note 3. Imagine Snapdragon 400 v 800 and the former wins? That's how badly Samsung is with software skins. The size is another issue for me. LG G3 S is as large as I want to go.
I generally use this phone as a secondary and my main music phone since the headphone jack is perfectly positioned when inside my holster case. The internal audio is also the best of the bunch. But among the five phones I own, I say this phone has the least weaknesses and its glaring flaw (occasional lag and stutter) is something I am willing to live with. My dream phone is the V20 but I say my gold G3 Beat still looks better than it and more comfortable to hold with one hand.
AnonD-572573, 15 Aug 2016i want to buy this phone for a 14 year old as a birthday present.. is that a good idea??Yes if he or she does not have a phone because you find these phones anywhere on the internet. Also if you think his/her phone does not work right or if you think they don't like it.
ema, 26 Aug 2016should i upgrade it to 5.0?yes you should update if you feel the need that your phone does not work right, or you take your phone to the store and have them look at. Its also if you like the way the 5.0 works and looks.
So this is all based on your opinion. Hope this helps.
I bought LG G3 BEAT D722J. This is original right? But when i search it in google, i can't find it. Why?
I have LG D725 for AT&T but can't update from kitkat to lolypop anyone can help
AnonD-564361, 25 Jul 2016The G3 S is a relatively good phone for its time period, however the software issues can be an... morethe dissapearing keyboard never happened to me for the past two and a half years. even if updated to 5.1.
Asadn3, 09 Oct 2016Just dont listen to anyone who says this is a good phone... I have this phone for the last 6 m... moreMy opinion: you should've got another phone if you already known about the specifications, nowadays.
you have internet, you have already expressed opinios, why did you buy this phone? are you a troll?
Just dont listen to anyone who says this is a good phone... I have this phone for the last 6 months and I'm always grumpy about it.
There are only two good things about this phone. The tap wake up and the camera.. but these features are available in so many phones in this price range which work better than this stupid phone.. if anyone says that 1gb ram is enough for a phone in today's age, then eitherhe can be an apple user or someone who uses the phone only for calling.. the 8 GB memory is just an illusion, as it preoccupies 5 GB of it. And what is worse is, with the at&t version, you can't download on the SD card (although you can't even tether yourphone to any device while with att).
My opinion, do not even think of buying this phone. Better go for Xiaomi or any other phone which offers 2 or 3 gigs of RAM and much better of almost all the specs for this price range... Xiaomi redmi note 3 can beat this phone in any field at any tine
The phone is great, if it lags or it's slow it't because of the user, 1.2Ghz and 1Gb RAM is enough for a phone to work smooth. Also, it has a SD card slot for a reason, use it, a memory card is really cheap and saves lots of space. If it still works slow become a developer, play with some settings, carefully, you can screw up the device. If it still works slow root it, cumstom ROM and kernel. I see no reason why you wouldn't do it. And srsly now, don't upgrade, kitkat is good, if you want a more recent version of android, get a more recent released phone. Those are just suggestions, if you don't know how to root or manage developer options learn or don't do it.I am not responsabile for anything that could happen with your device. Cheers.

Now more seriously. I recommended buying this phone to my wife. It's fast for regular use. Screen is good and shiny. The two tap wake is very convenient. He just has to be carefull not to fill the RAM memory too much. That would slow down the phone.
