Hello! Can anyone recommend a camera phone that has similar photo qualities as the LG G4? I have been using mine for 5 years and I am dreadding the moment when I have to replace it. I just love the G4's natural picture quality, the great results in dimm light and the great detail. I would appreciate if anyone has a recommendation.

I installed Pixel rom which is an Android 9 rom. Works like a charm.
I just wish I could find an original LG battery.

One of the best phones I had.
Used this phone for couple of years (from August 2016 to December 2020, H815)
Excellent camera! Really good one. Even now better than many "new" phones. The "manual" camera mode had a lots of options, too. The panorama mode works really good. Selfie camera is really good too. Nice design. Good in hand (It was "big" phone at the time, but easy getting used to it). Nice user interface. Nice sound, but it could be better with loudness, the mic too - it could be a little bit more louder. The loudspeaker is bit quite for calls. Screen was ok too, nice colours and bright enough when you need it. Loved the "double tap" feature for waking/sleeping the phone. Loved the notification light on the main panel with different colours and patterns (so easy to see whats happening from a distance for different notifications).
Durable and had experienced a lots of incident flights and falls and didnt broken. Just a few scratches at the panel, but the screen is ok (always used it with silly screen protector - with the sticker from the box and replaced it once or twice). Broke the main camera glass (by falling ON a rock right onto the glass), replaced it twice (with non-original and original glass cover), but since then had the feeling the camera is not working really fine (making a little dimmed photos sometimes, maybe some sort of dust in the lenses or because of the glass, never went to a repair shop).
The leather back panel (black) is quite good too - really nice on touch and in hand. Didnt had a plastic or another cover case for most of the time, just for the last year+ of using, because the leather back panel got a little worn out. Never used the other panel (I think it was sort of a shiny pale pinky/white colour), and the grip of the leather panel is better than the other one.
The only reason I switched to new phone (in 2020) was because it got old and slow and didnt work quite well with updated versions of the apps Im using. Normal use - internet, social networks, browsing, GPS and maps. Rarely playing (a lot of) games.
The main problem I had was the battery life (even when I bought a new battery) and a problem with the jack maybe (after the phone slipped while on cord and after 1 year of using) - it was "killing" the cables after few months of using and wouldnt want to charge. So had to buy or to have spare cable for charging all the time. Had 10 cables at least at home for "the charging problem". Cables working fine with other devices, but not with this one...
No rebooting problem, no other major problems. Sometimes "freeze", but easy to reboot if nothing works with taking battery off. Sometimes heating up or overheats and switches off/restarts, but I guess its quite normal with new apps and new features through the years.
Just bought one F500L Korean version, quality renewed. Missed good old days. This phone still out beats most of the 2021 models in every respect.
I've been using this great set since Aug 2016
The battery is its only problem. . Months thinking to replace it. But nothing can go in my mind. . The G4 experience makes choosing another one more difficult
My daily driver since July 2020. Bought it for 100 USD sh - but not refurbished. From AlliExpress ordered new batteries ( Abt. 5 pcs - ok, a little bit greedy ). H815 variant. No boot loop issues up to now. Android 6. Good screen ( in sunlight not so bright ) , powerful sound - ringtone and Waze, YouTube. Camera good - OIS. Batteries although new - need to have at least 1 spare with you, if using the phone all day long. Sometimes is stucking if used for multiple tasks at once :) otherwise I'm happy with it.
I got two fully working LG G4s for only $25, they make me feel nostalgic for when my main phone was a G4. I'll baby these as much as possible to try and prevent bootlooping
I had this phone working fine for two years and then the famous bootloop problem happened, reboots and at the showing of the logo it reboots again. It was though repaired by LG service at no extra cost and has been working fine since then,
I mine when it was release. As soon as it turned one year old of use, it won't open again. Every time i turned it on, it always stuck in it's logo and that's it. So, i hereby conclude that this phones life span is exactly one year old.
The LG G4 is a great phone. It did have that bad solder on the SOC but, customer service was immaculate. I called, they said send It in and 2 weeks later got it back with no service fee. The new logic board and SOC are fine. I stressed tested for a month strait and it still holds up. Anyone that brings up BT's eats bootloops for breakfast. This was 2years ago and way after the warranty period, and they still fixed it. As long as the screen isnt cracked they'll fix it for free. So there should be no crying about bootloops. They fixed my V10 too. I don't get why most people rag on LG's phones. Especially the G4. It still takes better pics than most phones and cameras today. The 16MP sensor is comparable to the Galaxy Note 3,4 and 5. I tested this, forget DxNoMark. They can't even run audio tests correctly. Android OS is made to be customized. Out of the box isn't how its done. We all know LG has the market cornered on the audio front. And they don't even make smartphones anymore. Lucky me a very close friend of mine got me both the LG V70 and Rollable. Though, the Rollable is a 3rd iteration, it still works as shown in the leaks. Of course i couldn't put these on show because they don't exist and would out my partner. They both run flawless on T-Mobile's/Sprint's network. I locked it to 4GLTE using BANDs 2,4,12,41,66 and 71. Maxing out at 50Mbps down and that 5miles away from the closest tower. Remember, the fastest 4GLTE is faster and more solid than the slowest and mid sub6 5G. I'll miss LG's phones but i have all the greats like the V40, V50, V60 and V70 to hold me down. Till i find another one of LG custom engineering samples. As far as the LG G4 goes, you just have to mod it. Or leave it on Android 6. I have the T-Mobile H811 variant ROOTed and Unlocked running Android 9 (custom made by me) has all the features working, and the new 4000mAh battery last as it should. No Bloatware or hidden stuff running or sending.
very lousy phone especially the battrey.
