My G4 already upgrade to Marshmallow. The battery so far is ok. I text, check email and watch movie more then one hour. One day use is ok. The camera is great as my DSLR camera. So the camera setting look like DSLR camera setting. It is super.
I've had mine for about 6 weeks now. Only battery issues I've had are related to an app I downloaded.
I also have an H812 Canadian variant, and I have had zero issues with it, and the phone is even better with the Marshmallow update. I am not sure why Carlos is having issues (a few comments above), but my battery lasts way longer now than before. Although, I am not sure what he does with his. I use it as a phone, text, surf, and do some gaming, but not spending the day doing it all. My son just got rid of his Samsung S6 for this phone, and he feels that this phone is better. Its just up to everyones personal preference. One thing I hate reading in these forums are one word answers like Nope, or someone bashing the phone because they "really wanted" a iPhone, or s7, or some other one but decided to give it a try and it doesn't have certain features they are used to, or UI they find different.
My brother had the latest iPhone for a few weeks, it crashed, took it in and they couldn't even recover any info from it, so are all iphones garbage, or just his? So, if you read these forums, do not let what you read influence your purchase, ask at the dealer/service provider which phone seems to be more reliable, or had more complaints.
Youssef zamzam, 31 Mar 2016Thanks for the reply broSo far that's great plus I'm planning on getting a power bank for emer... moreIt's an issue that occurs (as far as I can tell) , to some devices that are upgraded from 5.1 to 6.0 through bridge mostly, but I cannot tell if some of them got an OTA Update. As far as I am concerned, this bootloop's cause is software. The first one , which was hardware related, was fixed through the new versions of the phone. But some issue occurs and I strongly believe it has to do with the update and LG's rom and drivers.
It occurs while trying to connect to many wifi's with low signal , and then try to switch to 4G Or 3G network. That happened to about 10 people here in Greece (a really small amount ) , and all of them had the same issue. I , nearly every day, switch wifi's and 4G , and nothing happened to me, so I believe is out of luck , and how the update "sits" on the phone. If we suppose that many million devices are sold (over 20mil. ) and 10K devices seemed to have this problem , the percentage is fairly small.
LG doesn't seem to work for a solution (yet), and me and some friends are trying to figure out what's going on with some devices.
Other that this peculiar thing, this phone is excellent all the way!
guys does the performance or battery life or any thing changes after a while? cause people been saying its all right in the first 2-4 weeks then it becomes a piece of crap? is it true? thanks.
Ashley, 31 Mar 2016Im planning to buy this phone this april first week..
Does the phone bootloop often ?
Does t... moreYou will only experience the hardware related bootloop if the device's first three starting serial number is the one from 505-509 (5 is the year of production and 05-09 are the months). Software bootloop if it is from 600-603, that is unconfirmed but hardware bootloop has been confirmed by LG, if you receive one of those then send it back.
P.S Ordered the device few days ago and about to receive it tomorrow. All the best

Guys please help me out with ur valuable comments. Thanks guys.
can somebody write a review based on his experience for like months or a year of usage? cause some people say that the first 2weeks-month are usually okay then the phone turns to be a piece of crap i would like to know if its true, thanks.
I am Happy with the device itself. very responsive and Camera is superb..
Guys how common does the bootlooping issue happens? And what r the reasons for that? And can it be fixed by anyway?
I am lucky to have the model g4 h818 dual sim because ultimately after 6.0 update no problem no issues at all fully functional the whole system including the installation of new apps from playstore everything was doing fine. So greatful to have this model incomparable to other g4 models that seem they have plenty of problems after the upgrade. Whooo thanks to you Lord.

I just bought myself an LG G4 phone after I saw an LG agent demonstrating its camera capabilities. I must say I was impressed with its responses to a variety of hand/finger commands without necessarily touching the screen. This included zooming the target object, shifting and adjusting the image on the camera focus etc. Now I'm disappointed because I don't seem to be able to do that. To make matters even worse, I cannot find the user manual in the package. It just means that there are many features that I cannot enjoy and do not even know they exist.
Can someone assist?
I have an H812 variant. (Canadian)
First and foremost - DO NOT UPGRADE TO MARSHMALLOW (Android 6.0)
The latest update overdrives the GPU and I think the Android battery saving features conflicts with the LG battery saving features.
I find the phone run HOT and drains the battery super fast with Marshmallow. (Especially when running games)
Just passive (on Airplane mode) and forcing close all APPs and Stopping all APPs running under "Battery and Power" in the settings menu, screen brightness at 75%, the phone would drain at about 7% to 10% every hour.
I downgraded by flashing Android 5.1 (Lollipop) and the phone runs cool again. No battery drain issues. I would have the battery sit above 95% before lunch time and that's not even on Airplane mode.
So trust me when I say, DO NOT UPGRADE TO MARSHMALLOW with this phone. It makes the phone worst. Keep it at Lollipop.
Youssef zamzam, 29 Mar 2016Okay guys.. Can somebody please write a comment about the cons of the lg g4 based on his exper... moreThe only possible glitch you can find , is this boot loop stuff some people get into , but the issue can be resolved with hard reset. This can be a possible software issue , lg will fix, but it doesn't happen to everyone. Other than that, battery life is average, considering that you get a 2K screen. Screen-on-time can be about 4 to 5 hours , depending on your usage. If you can call this a drawback, you name it :)
Other than that the phone is smooth at everything you do. If you get a phone which has android 5.1 in it, you can instantly update to android 6, but after doing so, you must do a factory reset , to make the things better. If it's already on 6, you can set it up from the beggining. Everything is fine, camera is really nice, UI is average (I don't like LG's UI), and phone call quality is excellent. Sound from its speaker is loud, but not crystal clear. Not bad either (I am nearly satisfied). One good thing is that you can place the onscreen buttons whenever you like (you can reposition them , or add more buttons). You can adjust screen colours , you can do practically everything. There's no fingerprint scanner, or quickcharger (but I think it supports Qualcomm's Quickcharge 2.0). And that's all I can think of right now, hope that helped.
