Can anyone tell me how this phone works in terms of battery, i'm considering to buy this phone, but one of the things i'm looking for is BATTERY, i know that i cannot ask for 2 days with a single charge, but a descent day will be more than fine, i know that you can replace the battery and that the fast charge feature will help me too, as well as carring a power bank with me. But i need to know if any of you guys had/have problems with battery or heating with this device ('cause i have all this troubles with my current Moto X 1st Gen and i don't want that thing anymore with a newer phone). Thanks
I have a Sony Xperia z1 now. I had it for 3 years. I'm really okay with with. The camera's descent and quite clear in some angles. When I was watching a TV show, I saw this cool looking phone. And since I'm very curious to know what phone it is I looked it up. And then I saw LGG4. And i was like watching so many videos and reading articles about it. And I though this phone is really cool and unique. My birthday's coming up so I'm planning to buy it. But when you bring money into this. I already have a nice and descent phone should I buy it or not?
Ian, 04 Apr 2016Damn I like this phone but 5.5" is just too big. Now Im confused which phone I should buy now ... moreYou can compare the phones here, in gsmarena. You can see for yourself that z3+ is really close to G4 in terms of actual size , and it is 5.2". If you have the chance to grab one of those phones for yourself to see how well fit in your hands, then it will be awesome and you will make the best choice :)
G4 has great feel, and doesn't slip from your hand , as it's plastic combined with leather , makes you think it's more premium than it actually is and feels nice in the hand.
Then why is it so overrated guys? Its so cheap and people always tend to choose Samsung, huawei,Sony or htc over it.. Is it the advertising? Or is it really not as good as the other phones? Or is there alot of problems or glitches with the device? I wanna know why is it so good in the internet but nobody buys it? None of my friends actually got it they go for the note 4 or the s6 or htc one m8,m9 and maybe huawei ascend mate 7,honor 7.. I wanna know if its really underrated or its just not as good as its competitors. Thanks :)
Ian, 04 Apr 2016Damn I like this phone but 5.5" is just too big. Now Im confused which phone I should buy now ... moreThis is the common mistakes people does while comparing the size.
Rather than referring the whole physical size, people go by screen size which makes the compactness (or the body to screen ratio) go for a toss.
LG G4 isnt too compact, like G2 or G3 but it offers better compact package than other 2 mentioned in the post.
So best way is, go to the shop and see how it feels in your hand.
Ian, 04 Apr 2016Damn I like this phone but 5.5" is just too big. Now Im confused which phone I should buy now ... moreMan this is a great phone although you are stuck making the decision. Forget that half an inch and just go for it. The specs it provides are unbeatable.
Damn I like this phone but 5.5" is just too big. Now Im confused which phone I should buy now in april 2016. Im like between G4, Z3+ or galaxy S5. Only this phones in option. Can someone pls help me about choice which phone I should buy?
G4 - stopped me for 5.5 inch display
Z3+ - stopped me due to the overheating issue
S5 - boring ui and design
Here z3+ is my favorite but that overheating issue is problem but I'm not heavy user.
Anyway I will find your opinions helpfull and usefull so thanks anyone who answer on my problem. Cheers

I heard this issue with most of LG G4 users. Even I face it sometimes, may be 30% of the time, but I dont mind tapping it again. Not a big issue for me.
I upgraded to G4 (818N) from G2 the day it was brought in India and I was pretty happy about almost everything. But as soon as I upgraded to Marshmallow, my phone ran into battery issues, started charging too slow and started getting hot. I dont play mobile games but battery life became half.
Ran to service centers who took 7 days just to downgrade it to 5.1 back again. They claimed they replaced the motherboard but when I checked IMEI numbers, they were caught off gaurd. They still dont have any answer on why they kept my phone for 7 days. Battery and Hot issues resolved but still struggling with slow charge issue.
Horrible experience at LG service centers. My loyalty is going to change soon. Never going to buy LG phones again.
My mistake (to my g4), I left charger over night and so after 100per cent full charger still attached for 6hours and so I don't know if the damage has done because my g4 knock knock code malfunction in it. When my phone hibernated or on locked I cannot wake it up the screen by tapping it. Even I press the power button so to no avail. I have to remove the battery for me to restart my g4. Does it troubled with the overcharging of my phone? Anyone can help me pls? Right now what I did was to kept my screen open but putting brightness zero just not to go to sleep because I cannot wake it up again. Thanks for the help
Guys how is the g4 compared to the galaxy note 4? Cause in my country they're pretty much the same price .. I don't want to know about the specifications on paper or whatever I want to know from someone who has tried both and have experience
P.S I'm already using a power bank so I don't really care for battery life. Thanks :)
Guys ,, how is the g4 in comparison of the galaxy note 4? Cause here in my country they're pretty much the same price. P.S I don't care for battery life as I'm already going using a power bank
My G4 already upgrade to Marshmallow. The battery so far is ok. I text, check email and watch movie more then one hour. One day use is ok. The camera is great as my DSLR camera. So the camera setting look like DSLR camera setting. It is super.
I've had mine for about 6 weeks now. Only battery issues I've had are related to an app I downloaded.
I also have an H812 Canadian variant, and I have had zero issues with it, and the phone is even better with the Marshmallow update. I am not sure why Carlos is having issues (a few comments above), but my battery lasts way longer now than before. Although, I am not sure what he does with his. I use it as a phone, text, surf, and do some gaming, but not spending the day doing it all. My son just got rid of his Samsung S6 for this phone, and he feels that this phone is better. Its just up to everyones personal preference. One thing I hate reading in these forums are one word answers like Nope, or someone bashing the phone because they "really wanted" a iPhone, or s7, or some other one but decided to give it a try and it doesn't have certain features they are used to, or UI they find different.
My brother had the latest iPhone for a few weeks, it crashed, took it in and they couldn't even recover any info from it, so are all iphones garbage, or just his? So, if you read these forums, do not let what you read influence your purchase, ask at the dealer/service provider which phone seems to be more reliable, or had more complaints.
Youssef zamzam, 31 Mar 2016Thanks for the reply broSo far that's great plus I'm planning on getting a power bank for emer... moreIt's an issue that occurs (as far as I can tell) , to some devices that are upgraded from 5.1 to 6.0 through bridge mostly, but I cannot tell if some of them got an OTA Update. As far as I am concerned, this bootloop's cause is software. The first one , which was hardware related, was fixed through the new versions of the phone. But some issue occurs and I strongly believe it has to do with the update and LG's rom and drivers.
It occurs while trying to connect to many wifi's with low signal , and then try to switch to 4G Or 3G network. That happened to about 10 people here in Greece (a really small amount ) , and all of them had the same issue. I , nearly every day, switch wifi's and 4G , and nothing happened to me, so I believe is out of luck , and how the update "sits" on the phone. If we suppose that many million devices are sold (over 20mil. ) and 10K devices seemed to have this problem , the percentage is fairly small.
LG doesn't seem to work for a solution (yet), and me and some friends are trying to figure out what's going on with some devices.
Other that this peculiar thing, this phone is excellent all the way!
