Hello everyone and lg fans.. I'm actually facing a problem updating my lg g4 ls991 lollipop to marshmallow..here are the details;
When I get a notification for the ota update availability, I actually download the update it's about 900mb. Then another notification saying "Android System Update Downloaded", I opened it and I was asked to install it and the phone will reboot automatically. When the phone reboots, I see the Android logo and the update begins to install but at a certain level i get "ERROR" message.. And all I can do is to unplug the battery and put it back for the phone to restart, and after doing that the update is gone and it is not installed.. I really want to update my LG..please guys help me out THANKS

Pickey, 18 Jun 2016Ok first of all , stop saying someone is lying because he had a bad experience with his device... more100% correct. mine H818N. same issue. serious battery drain issue. i think issue is related with screen resolution. i Request LG to give option to reduce resolution to 1080p or even 720p. what is the use of 2160p if we cant use it for more than 3 hours.

You MUST do a Factory Reset after the update. You will see the battery improvement. Always turn off GPS and Wifi if not in use!! GPS will kill your battery in no time. gl

Ok first of all , stop saying someone is lying because he had a bad experience with his device. I own a lg g4 h815 for 5 months now and the battery is absolutely horrible on Marshmallow . I can drain it in no time ( I do no gaming) , moderate usage and have to charge it like 2 or even 3 times per day. Same thing with my friends' devices. Good phone but no match for samsung s6 , even in camera. Will probably sell it. Those who say their battery improved on latest updates maybe u got another version not the h815. Last update on h815 was about 20 january . Horrible battery.
I cant end the call sometimes and my power button stops working and the phone doesn't lock system UI stops working sometimes can anyone give me a solution
Timofte, 17 Jun 2016What is the software version now.Androud 6.0
If I use it not much it last me about 24 hours or more.
If browsing wifi for 5-6 hours a day it takes 16 hours till battery down
For me its ok.
Blacko, 16 Jun 2016Last update is perfect!!! Battery life time increase very much. No more discomfort for a bit... moreWhat is the software version now.
Crap battery on the h815 international version. I dont know what updates are u guys talking about. Latest update for my h815 was in middle of january. I want to sell it and buy an s6 instead. Got tired of charging it 3 times a day ( medium user ). I am not gaming on it. Probably some of u that have other g4 versions got luckier. Anyways lg doesnt give a crap on releasing quality marshmallow support unlike samsung that gets on s6 updates like 2 times a month.
I got android 6.0 update yesterday. I have LG G4 H815 and I'm on UK's three network.
Blacko, 16 Jun 2016Last update is perfect!!! Battery life time increase very much. No more discomfort for a bit... moreWhat it your model phone?... i have the H815P for SouthAmerica...and i have problems with the battery after of Upfdate to 6.0
I bought it immediately, fell in love, I have had good experiences with previous Lg Phones.
Bought it on 6/5/2015 everything was great, I started reading news on the media you tube about a boot loop problem of this g4. especially the series numbers with started 505 to 508. The many testimonies written and in videos were shocking and they were pretty sure that if you own a phone with this beginning serial numbers you will have this boot loop motherboard problem for sure sooner or later. People recommended to save backup the info and media as fast as you can, because is was going to happen for certain. The phone will die.
So I was more than worried because mine serial # start 505, then suddenly, one saturday june 11 2016 a year after I bought it, at night I plug to charge the phone and in the morning the phone was black dead no response. I took the battery out reinsert it press the on bottom and the phone started rebooting from black to the lg life is good log then blank in and endless loop. Nothing opens no application, no Att, logo nothing.
ATT store could not do anything to revive this phone , so they instructed me to make a repair request to the manufacturer LG. so I did. you need to have your original receipt, and in there has to be IMEI#. They took the information and now is has been a week waiting for these prepaid shipping labels to send them my dead phone.
If you have this phone check your serial number and cross your fingers because there is 99,9 % possibility the motherboard will break internally and your phone will be boot loop rebooting circle. And if your is an international unlock one you will be refereed to LG Korea and that wont be easy.
Do not buy this phone, the boot loop rebooting problem is real!!!Mother board problem is real and LG knows it , has recognized it and are willing to service those with in the year of guarantee.
khateeb321, 14 Jun 2016LG G4's battery life sucks. I repeat, G4 battery life SUCKS! Have you tried to download latest updates.
