i have had my LG G4 phone for 11 months. Today, I was listening to music while cutting the grass, and the phone froze. I tried removing the battery for a hard reset, but that fixed nothing. It was stuck in some kind of startup loop between the lg screen and the att globe. I looked up the problem online and it seems like this has become a fairly common problem.
After being interrogated by lg "customer service" and we determined that my phone was "in perfect condition" (said the att employee helping me) and not damaged by water I was told I would have to wait 5-6 business days for a replacement phone or I could pay $15 for 1-2 day express shipping. Why should I have to pay more money when it was their fault and still under manufacturers warranty?
Anyway, the reason why I'm so pissed off at the situation is that I am going to lose everything on my phone that wasn't backed up to social media. This includes contacts, game data, and most importantly pictures including some very special moments from the first 3 months of my daughters life. I am willing to take some of the blame for not backing up important items to my google drive or somewhere else. But in my defense, you shouldn't have to worry about a phone all of a sudden ceasing to function after so short a time without any notice at all.
i do not live my life through social media, so the vast majority of my special moments I've shared with my family in the last year may be gone. I'll always have my memories, but over time those will fade, replaced by more happy memories. Pictures are timeless.
I have always had good fortune with LG products, and have been willing to recommend them to people asking my opinion. I can say that after today, I will never buy another LG product again, nor will I recommend their products to family and friends. I do not want a situation like this to happen to anyone else, especially those that I care about. That's why I am posting this today.
Danybae, 22 May 2016Se the serial number, if it start with 50... It sure gonna bootloop soon or later, if it star... moreIsn't it safe to buy lg v10 instead of g4? bootloop issue is worse, even with 60x serial number, lesser chance of bootloop but still a chance is there to get a bootloop.

HASSAN-17, 21 May 2016Can anyone confirm it that g4 manufactured in april 2016 doesn't have bootloop issue anymore?? My LG G4 about 2 months from 3 UK has no boot loop issue.
Not sure when it was manufactured as nothing on box and don't know where to look on phone.
I do think the Wi-Fi on the phone and internet has issues but phone is on Android 5.1 and at the moment 3 UK won't issue a Marshmallow update as they say it's causing problems with the handsets.
Just to add to my previous note as this is worthy of mention. I have tried to escalate to the country of purchase but I am not able to as I do not have a knowledge of the San script characters and there is no option for English. Same issue with Korea so no opportunity to seek some kind of common sense attitude. I will leave it here as I will today buy a new phone from either Apple or Samsung. 11 months is just to short for such an expensive devices which showed such promise. Very disappointed with LG.
My LG G4 died in 9 months from I bought it to home.
Freezed in the swithch-on page.
I have to remove the battery to turn it off.
I searched online.
It is a common problem of G4.
I am so angry.
I bought it at another country. Don't kmow how to fix it now. My money has gone.
Won't buy LG anymore
Can anyone confirm it that g4 manufactured in april 2016 doesn't have bootloop issue anymore??
11 months ago I purchased an LG G4 smartphone. Nice screen unique features and leather back. 11 months later the phone has died and LG will not honour the worldwide warranty. They are insisting that I return to the country of purchase. If this is the case then these phones and LG products should not be sold at airports and customer should be advised to only use and purchase the item in their home country. However, let's not lose sight of the fact that the phone only lasted 11 months. I have used Samsung and Apple in the past and all are still usable today even after many years. Very disappointed in LG'S attitude and performance.

I had the LG G2 almost from May 2015 to November 2015 and i loved it so much i had to upgrade for the LG G4. The camera is fantastic, the image quality is realistic. Charges quickly at first then it drops a bit after. The CPU isnt fantastic. Never have I experienced software issues and physical issues.

baby danz, 20 May 2016Is this worth to buy or I should stay in my samsung grand prime?? Let me say this. This is the best bang for the buck phone. It's $125-$160 on Craigslist.com in new condition also. New is $330? Go for new iphone or samsung at $650-$850 if you have money to spare. GL
Brynn, 20 May 2016You are changing providers but say your phones at fault? does not make sense.I had the same problems after MM update. I did a "hard reset". I don't have that problems anymore. GL
