lg g5. is there an internal setting to change charging limits to 80% vs overcharging; forever all the time; to bubble my battery ?? I hear other phones have sys//battery folders to change a parameter.
locally ; anywhere in Asia they say I Cant' get any parts of service so have to keep a battery supply and lower module extras.
As shown in this review lg g5 camera is good than iphone 7 is lg g5 still better camera than iphone 7 in 2021
Kek, 08 Jul 2021It's 2021, so forget about this device. Go for LG G7 instead. the biggest achilles hee... moreBut as compared to the price of lg g5 what is the price of LG g7 (which you are talking about)????
It's 2021, so forget about this device. Go for LG G7 instead.
the biggest achilles heel of this device nowadays is the SD 820, which is just Quad core, but those 4 cores are power hungry. Batteries are scarce, too.
This phone has heating issues and battery problems. Even if you bought the so called "Unused" "Refurbished 98%" ... 3 years ago is a NO! don't be fooled. So if I were you, stay away from 2016 phones. Just buy second hand LG G7 thinQ for a 130 bucks cheaper. I've tried the T-Mobile version and totally regret.
The GPS has never wants to work on this phone. And after about a year, the camera Zoom would cause the picture to get fuzzy. After about two years before I replace the battery, when the battery level would get around 20% or so the phone would randomly shut off. The screen is almost useless in sunlight use
I got this phone around 2016 and gps never worked. the battery was either fake or something or phone kept killing them so it required constant charging. the phone battery levels would jump up and down randomly and phone would power off randomly. must have bought 5 extra batteries. gave up using it for older samsung s5 neo. then in 2010 gave it another try by buying another battery but this time i rooted the phone and downloaded battery limit app. i set the battery charging limit between 65% and 75%. now it's been year and no more battery issues. the gps still doesn't connect, must have opened the phone to fix the gps several times and got it to work only while having the back cover off, by connecting wire to the gps connection inside. but as soon as i put the cover back on the gps signal be lost. so gave up on using gps on this phone. just last month new issue has cropped up on screen, its ghosting meaning some kind of screen burn in which means if i have a screen open for few minutes it stays as shadow for a while and i read online that screen is on its way out. so I'll just use the phone as long as it keeps going. its nice phone overall especially that i found a way for battery to not detoriate. i think the phone keeps charging the battery after 100% n it kills the battery quickly. with the battery limit app i think battery would last forever. just the gps issue don't know why it doesn't work, alot of people had this gps issue which seems like bad design. but i want to start looking for next phone only because i need gps when going out. i might go for LG phone again just because smartphones have gotten pretty expensive these days. I don't see why anyone would want to pay more than 500euro on phone but now phones are over this amount. So maybe I'll come new Lg model phone because they are going at cut prices and I'll have souvenir from LG as they are stopping to make phones. but i really hope the gps works on that one and the battery isn't there but i know I'll put the battery limit app on it right from start because lithium battery should not be charged till 100% anyway.
VFanRJ, 13 Dec 2020I sorely miss this phone. While I still have my LG G5 as a backup, I needed to move on because... moreWe have to give feedback and give low ratings especially for the display and body
mruczek, 07 Dec 2020Yup, still using mine and I don't really have a reason to buy a new phoneyes agree AS V8 OS AND ITS far better than pie or v 10 that are just horrible.
battery changeout was ez as it did not slide out normally being bubbled from overcharging but NP.
now just to fix the ghosting screen when you tough it; ;its all gone !
Chrishane, 30 Jan 2021Lg g5 is good but it need another update to fix performance and the battery lifeez to change the battery as it sure needs it yearly ! one app overcharged and bubblled my battery so the rear button did not work but took it apart to change battery ok. Now i just have screen ghosting. ( no parts are available, or service outside usa. ) so I"m finding.
Kingslayer, 21 Feb 2021My favorite smartphone of all-time and for one simple reason; removable battery.
The GPS is... morefar worse than any samsung phone of any size. I have to charge with a new battery 3x a day with just wifi or data on.. no vdo, no playback etc.
Now I have screen ghosting with no solution and no service; anywhere.
My favorite smartphone of all-time and for one simple reason; removable battery.
The GPS is kinda shoddy but still usable. The battery life has gotten better ever since the red 3200 mAh Shenmz battery from Amazon. The image retention has went away using a blue light filter and using dark backgrounds. And the overheating went away updating it to the latest firmware which was only Nougat for my unlocked model.
I've had issues with G5 early on but those problems became less of an issue as time went by. Its underrated attribute is it's easy to repair. Unlike other phones, tje modular design makes replacing parts so easy to do. If my G5 ever decides to break down on me, I'll just buy another one.
They can be bought for as low as $20 on OfferUp or Craigslist if you look hard enough and haggle. Nobody wants this phone except for core fans like me. Most people are trying hard to get rid of them. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
Lg g5 is good but it need another update to fix performance and the battery life
I sorely miss this phone. While I still have my LG G5 as a backup, I needed to move on because after 5 years it was slowing down to the point that I was waiting on it. Unfortunately, you no longer can find a premium phone with a swap-able battery or 16x9 screen dimensions. How do we consumers let vendors get away with sealing their phones?
