Try to open the same apps, browse the same sites and compare the screens - you will see what garbage is LG's LCD screen. It's dark, dim and there are no whites at all, instead of white you'll get nicely dimmed greys. LG's flop this year is even bigger than with G4's faulty logic boards.
I have had the LG G3, and the G4. Before that i was an HTC only boy. I got the lg G5 on pre-order from sprint and received it on March 31st. I do not like that they made the screen smaller, even though its only a little bit i wish they would have kept the screen at 5.5 but i think the reason behind this is because of the new V line from LG. Basically i think the v10 is the lg G4 pro version. My carrier is the only one that does not carry the V10 because i probably would have gotten that phone instead but that phone does have a crappy processor and video GPU just like the G4 does but they did that because the snapdragon 810 had so many problems so they went with the 808. Second, i don't get why people are saying the screen is so dim, if you look at the brightness specifications, its twice as bright as the G4 and G3. Now what i will say is the "auto" function on the screen brightness doesn't work exactly right and sometimes i will go into the settings and turn the auto function off and back on and that fixes it all the time. i have no problem seeing the screen at all in full sunlight. i absolutely love that they kept the removeable battery, so i also don't understand why people were bitching about the smaller battery, they even had a promo that if u bought the phone at a certain time they would send u a free battery and charging cradle. i used that promo and got my extra battery and cradle and love it. I also purchased an extra non-oem battery from amazon for $16 bucks. So now i have three batteries, if it gets close to dying, i simply turn the phone off and swap the batteries. I NEVER charge the phone (but i did when i first got it and it charges very fast, about an hour and 15 minutes gets a full charge) Now more about the display, i prefer IPS displays over samsungs amolded. First, the amolded displays look fake and over saturated. also the pixels die out over time. plus the samsungs are usually quite a bit more then the LG devices. Now that wasn't quite the case this time. i believe it was still about 100$ cheaper then the regular s7 and 200$ cheaper then the s7 edge. the g4 was alot cheaper then the samsung s6 and s6 edge but since they have the same processors and ram and gpu i guess they decided to charge more. Changing the batteries was a pain at first with the weird design but after a few weeks i can change them within a few seconds. i've read many professional reviews of the g5 and they all say it is by far the fastest as any of the new devices this year. it has also won awards for the best camera out of all of them too. i think the main 16mp shooter is the same from the lg g4. there is an extra 8mp wide angle lens but i am not much on taking pictures, i played with it a little and it seems ok. I think it also has the same 8mp front shooter as the g4. The speaker is on the bottom now instead of the back and it seems pretty good, a little better then on the g4's back facing speaker. overall i really like this phone. it is extremely fast and does all the things all the other phones do. i really like that it still comes with a removeable battery as i hate charging my phone even if it does charge really fast. i had six extra batteries for my g4. the call quality and reception are great (i am on sprint which is the worst of all the US carriers but it works great, i am usually home on my wifi anyway but i don't use wifi for calling. I did switch from Tmobile and i got much better service with them but sprint isn't that bad and they are working on improving. I don't use the second screen option because i have a smart watch but from what i read from reviews its the best out of any phone but still sucks. I give this phone an 8 out of 10. Some places even have this phone buy one get one free or buy one get one 50% off. just shop around.
LG G5 has the dimmest display on the market, any other flagship is brighter. LG, wake up and fix your software.
AnonD-481508, 23 May 2016Trolling...Not at all. Go to any store and try to compare these phones, you'll see that LG G5 is very dim. They are limiting the brightness in software and it looks like crap.
I'm not a fanboy of any brand and if anything I wanted to see G5 at the top this year, it ain't gonna happen with these highly limited IPS lcd screens. Galaxy s7 at half brightness looks much better than 100% brightness on G5 and consuming less energy, way less. How is that reasonable to LG execs?

I just played with the LGG5 at Best Buy and was impressed by the UI. I also played with the S7 & S7 edge and those seem great as well. Sony, Huawei and HTC all have some cool devices, though you'll have to verify that the unlocked versions work on your carrier's LTE band. I'm also looking to buy a new phone but will wait until October. Gotta see that Note 6!!
Great phone. Bought it last week from Best Buy. Unlocked. Upgrade from G2. Battery good enough for one day usage.
Anonymous, 22 May 2016HTC 10What ht 10? Come on ht phones is stagnant while LG is innovating every year and still a trailblazer...
Best phone I've ever used I'm a big fan of LG smartphones. Upgrade from G3
You cannot judge thr book by its cover, if we talk about phones its G5 that has a handsome functionality and practical specifications...
why the fuuuuuuuckkkkkkk is 2800mAh!!!!! can you explean it to me? i'm using G2 with 3000mAh why should I buy G5 with 2800mAh Oo
Bought LG G5 and returned it after few hours. The display is super dim, nowhere close to the claimed 800 or 900 nits. I guess it's about 300/350 nits max at full manual brightness. Automatic won't give you more indoors so the phone is useless. Got Galaxy S7 instead and the screen is amazing.
Too bad of course, because except the display G5 looks great and there is a replaceable battery which was one of the main factors to buy it in the first place.
LG - stop using these crap IPS displays and move to AMOLED or try to use something similar to Sony's IPS, I've got Xperia Z5 Premium and it's IPS is much brighter than the crap in LG G5 (Max brightness on manual again).
Before you start screaming that the light burn your eyes - remember that we are all different and each got his own needs, I need an bright screen - yes, even indoors.
LG G5 or Samsung s7 is better?
I'm planning to buy a new smart phone but I can't decided which one I should buy
