AnonD-537460, 15 May 2016The LG G5 vs the Sony Xperia Z5? Opinions please as I am a Sony person and scared to make the ... moreWill easily recommend the the G5 over the Z5, but then I would not really recommend any Sd810 based device (especially a Sony one), in the words of Anandtech: "heat-pipe thermal dissipation system is a quite worrying characteristic of the phone and should in no way be seen as a positive feature"
Sony saw the need to include not one but two heat-pipes in the Z5....now what does that tell you?
I would recommend the G4 over the Z5, so the G5 is an obvious choice.
I have got some more experience with it. Its battery lasts more with always on dispaly off. It lasted 42 hours with 5 hours talk time and normal use. And stanby is better as at night 12am I had 9% battery with wifi on and at morning 9 am it had 5% left. Camera features and settings are awesome as I have never seen as lowest shutter speed like dslr 30s bulb mode on a phone camera. And raw dng capture is good.

I sent the G5 back I bought off Amazon yesterday and at first I thought it was great when it first arrived at 6 in the afternoon but by 11 that night the power button had become loose and the finger print scanner had stopped working completely,LG what the hell have you done why can't you make a durable phone,my G4 is far superior to the G5 build quality wise and I will be sticking with the G4 now and until I maybe get a HTC m10
i bought LG G5 (H860) from singapore, when i checked at antutu officer result is unknown and when i checked at imei.info model result is KH8600.
is it fake phone?
anyone has experienced the same thing?
G5 user, 24 May 2016come on, LG has a special algorithm for the screen performance, it does not compete for the br... moreI Agree 1000% with you!!!!
LG G5 has: True, better, full color spectrum ips screen instead of Samsung S7 which has overexposed, too bright, nothing to do with: true colors...
Besides that, Samsung uses Super amoled technology that have very serious "burn in issues" with the screens... just google it, check it...
LG what the hell have you Done to G5
Dimmest screen ever and smaller Than Previous G series
Also Smaller battery Than LG G2 -_-
I bought V10 and i really wanted to pay 40$ more for G5 and get that SD820 , 135 degree camera
Thank you LG you ruined this phone!
i want to move from lg g4 to lg g5. how do i change devices without losing my app data? (game progress mostly!).
Anonymous, 24 May 2016Do yourself a favor, go to a store and put 2 devices on the table - LG G5 and Galaxy S7, then ... moreYes man. My G3 was bricked (IMEI number became null) after I have done restore upgrade errors in the LG mobile support tool.

Stop comparing and enjoy the phones features...yes its not perfect but i can tell you this i like it way more than my samsung note 5.
The operating system kills touch wiz and hate how they fill the phone with garbage that u cant even get rid of..note 5 comes with 4 gig ram but in reality you only have about 1 gig for your apps...

G5 user, 25 May 2016likewise, just try to compare lg g5 and s7 in 0 level brightness, and tell us which phone doe... moreBy the way look at these numbers from GSMarena's comparison of G5 and S7:
"The Galaxy S family is known for Super AMOLED displays and the S7 has the latest and greatest incarnation. It's very bright (especially in Auto mode) and flawless even under direct sunlight. The minimum brightness is an impressive 2.1 nits, so checking the phone in the middle of the night is no longer painful."
and here about G5
"Sunlight legibility is better than most LCDs. LG's Assertive Display adjusts pixel colors in real time to improve readability in direct sunlight (it selectively brightens dark areas of the image). In the opposite scenario - pitch black - the screen can go as low as 3.6 nits."
According to this Galaxy S7 can be dimmer at minimum brightness. It will also use less power being SAMOLED vs LG's IPS LCD.
G5 user, 25 May 2016likewise, just try to compare lg g5 and s7 in 0 level brightness, and tell us which phone doe... moreTo each his own, I don't care for the lowest brightness levels. I do care what is the maximum brightness and what will be the power consumption at that brightness. LG G5 is not even close..
Again, don't take me wrong here, I really like the phone but the screen? Give me a break.
Anonymous, 24 May 2016If you want bright screen and power don't matter for you v buy Sony Xperia Z3.Well, I already have Z5P (its IPS LCD is way better than G5's) but power matters and that's why Samsung's Super Amoleds will be much better for most.
Anonymous, 24 May 2016I'm speaking about 100% brightness not 0% - looking for a bright screen here.likewise, just try to compare lg g5 and s7 in 0 level brightness, and tell us which phone does have usable screen in dark or low lighted places without draining your battery..and that always matter to me...
