ThanosB75, 14 Mar 2016Derek 100% I agree with you!!! Congratulations about your analysis!!!Waterproofing: So you have to use a big bulky case that takes away from the premium feel of the phone which was the only reason LG redesigned the phone in the first place with an aluminum build, just to do what the Samsung can do without a case and retaining its premium glass/aluminum build? And how am I dumb if I like to take care of my phones and dont use a case? I prefer to be able to appreciate the build quality of something I just payed 800 dollars for.

Design: Like you said its a subjective topic, and there isn't a right or wrong answer to this.

Battery: Okay it is proven that AMOLED panels are more efficient due to their ability to shut off pixels, give me one source that shows LCD is more efficient as a fact and I'll shut up. And yes the G5 DOES need a better battery, the LG G4 had 3000 MAH and only lasted me a day when I had power saving modes on and monitored my usage very carefully, I can go all out on my Note 5, achieving over 5 hours of screen on time, which my G4 never even got close too, dont even get me started on the g3, both phones lasted only around 3 to 3 and a half hours of SOT, and look this up for yourself I'm not the only one reporting this. Quick charge 3.0 is faster, But remember, you wont need to charge the phone as much, it will last much much longer, but since you're a bit slow, then just wait for the official test's and see for yourself who is going to have better battery life. Quicker isn't always better.

Camera Tech
It shoot's a little better? Ever heard of dual pixel autofocus? it focuses in like one third of the time it takes for the G5. And the G5's main shooter is the same 16 MP we've had before already in the V10 and G4, So it's now LG's THIRD time using this sensor. Rediculous.

Screens
I've used over 4 samsung phones in the past year, and none have burn in. My sister's both have Note 4's used from launch day till now, No burn in. My old note 2 on cyanogenmod? No burn in. And it is 100% proven as a fact that AMOLED is the more efficient screen technology. The S7's screen isn't "marginally" better, It's leagues ahead in terms of contrast, and ability to reproduce complete black colors. Ask any reviewer in the world out there with an S7, I can guarantee you 9/10 people will say the S7/S7 Edge has the best screen on the market.

Navigation keys
Are you an idiot? Have you ever used android? how do you not know what he means? He's saying the S7 doesnt have onscreen navigation keys that eat up screen estate, meaning more of the screen is usable by things like apps.

Fast charging:
It hasn't been confirmed yet what the G5 will and wont have in the box since IT'S NOT EVEN OUT YET. Who knows maybe it will have a QC 3.0 charger in the box, if it does that's great but once again I addressed battery issues already ^^^^

Touchwiz:
You obviously haven't used newer touchwiz, it's alot cleaner and has a full fledged theme store which works fantastic, and offers a slew of features stock android cant match, and LG cant either. And besides, any software feature the G5 has, the S7 can do better. So idk what you're talking about, touchwiz is fine except for a bit of aggressive management which is still a bit hit or miss, but has been mostly fixed for the S7
Modules:
He's saying to unlock the FULL potential of the G5 you have to buy modules, such as the B&O 32 bit dac which was actually implemented internally in the V10, but now it has to be a module in the G5? But the modules aren't a huge deal any ways and like you said they are optional.

So, in closing, stop being absolutely ignorant. You clearly don't know anything about phones, and you clearly hate the Galaxy S7 for being a strong competition.

Take your tiny battery and modules, and go home.

Both phones are good ... perhaps this year I'd like to buy the S7 but then I discovered that is missing the Radio FM ... ridiculous in a top phone that cost 829 euro. So i will buy LG G5.

Anonymous, 14 Mar 2016S7: waterproof, better design, better battery, better camera technology, super amoled screen, ... moreTo some degree, the s7 is a rip off, you are paying so much for the same phone that came out last year. The manufactured build of the phone costs about $250. LG is simply doing what the Galaxy SIII and that's reinventing itself.

If I didn't do my homework, I'd probably switch to an S7 too. You know... The phones having identical hardware with the only difference is one has AMOLED and the other is LCD and the LCD eats up less battery. But who am I kidding, I don't know anything.

Derek , 14 Mar 2016I'd like to make a SMALL amendment in regards to the camera. The LG G5 outperforms the S7 in e... moreHi, I am currently an LG G3 user and had that phone for a year and a half - it's the best phone i ever had; the messeges app seems to be only one that lags a little when opening but after optimizing my phone (switching off unnecessary settings and uninstalling unneeded apps) it runs very smoothly. The level of customization on my LG is astonishing - from little things like keyboard design and heigh adjustment to re-sizing apps and their icon picture on the homescreen, etc....basically i love my LG G3 (despite it having mediocre battery life)...

This being said, my next phone will be the S7 Edge - i am sorry to say! That phone is a beast. You say that the G5 has 3.0 charging and it will be quicker, but i don't care about that - because i will always have an hour and half to spare before going to bed when i leave my phone on charge. I would be surprised if the G5 will score 60-65 hours here on gsm battery test. The S7 Edge scored 98 hours!! and 20h on video playback alone! That is amazing and something a phone over £500 deserves to have.

I will miss my LG and its detailed meticulous levels of customization, but i can't say no to S7 Edge's design, camera and battery. I am thoroughly disappointed by LG this year. Whilst innovative as always (the modular design is arguably revolutionary), they seemed to have forgotten that it's a smartphone in the first place - 2800 mAh on a phone that is optimized worse than Samsung just doesn't cut it for me...

That's just me. Everybody is different; but i do think LG have shot themselves in the foot this year...

Android can't really utilize all those cores completely anyway

This guy don't even own either ,so rather than speculation I can factually tell you the s7 edge is awesome .😃
I've got 7 and half hours screen on time with over 27 hours of using .
The tocuhwiz is toned down ,the camera awesome .everything about this phone is great.
I'm confused with your amoled eat battery comment ,LCD drains battery more because it can't display blaxka and whites naturally so uses the screen to do this.
I've had lg g3 and g4 both had big 3000mah batteries and both struggled . the g3 was shocking and the g4 just a ok .around 4 hours of screen time.

I'd like to make a SMALL amendment in regards to the camera. The LG G5 outperforms the S7 in every way EXCEPT for low light. But the difference between the two in low light, the S7 performs a bit better, but comparing the 2 photo's, no one would know or care about the difference because it's so minor unless you're a photo snob which you shouldn't/wouldn't be using a phone for photo's in the first place.

Also to add, when the G5 battery gets low, although i predict 90h over S7's 80h's, you could plug your phone in for a whopping 5-10 minutes ANYWHERE and have approximately 80% battery. There's NO WAY i will complain about a smaller battery when i know that it'll still last me an entire day, and if it doesn't i can just plug it in for less than half an hour to get a full charge back.

The UI on the LG G5, i may not agree with the deletion of the app drawer, it'll take getting used to, but it's a much cleaner UI to look at than the S7's oddly colored settings menu that bothers me to look at. Everything has to be a whole bunch of colors for some reason on TouchWiz and somehow, people like it.
