AnonD-492885, 22 Feb 2016You must be bloody joking m8I'm not the one who's joking. Actually LG is a joke in terms of smartphone. This modular is an old school idea of HTC Salsa.
Perfect, what I am looking for, removable battery + I think 2800mah okey for this phone because snapdragon 820 is seems efficent cpu.
Isit dual sim and dedicated sd card slot or the sd card uses one of the sim slot?
The more I read about the G5, the more I want it over the S7 edge. LG is really thinking for the next decade. You can only do so much with a slab design. The biggest G5 complaints I hear are...
- FUGLY design. I think it is ok. When the Nexus 6P came out, not many people complained on the looks. What LG proved is you can have a metal design and still have a removable battery like the old HTC days. I think the slide-out modular design is a fantastic concept that is probably a few years ahead of its time. Some thought the fingerprint scanner was a gimmick before becoming a mainstay. Apple even copied the always-on Siri taking cues from the og Moto X.
- 2800 mAh battery. This might not be remedied except through the fast charging (0-83% in 30 minutes) and being swappable for something bigger.
Too many people complaining on the superficial when the real beauty with the G5 is within.. and it slides out too. I have went back and forth with the pluses and minuses of removable battery which other OEM's have gone away because of the metal or glass designs. LG just showed us how to have the best of both worlds while opening up potential with LG Friends with the other. By the 2020's decade, how we all use our smartphone will change with our daily habits.
LG G5 might be the most innovative smartphone since the original iPhone. But it is the LG hardware and not Apple software like what iOS brought to the table. The S6/S7 edge is more "gimmick" than the modular design of the G5. I hope more OEM's actually copy this modular design to revive removable batteries again. Because we all know battery is the first one to go broke after so many charges.
Anonymous, 22 Feb 2016Everything is OK but battery is very small. That is the reason why LG have given you the privilege of removing and putting new battery..In fact you can put 10000mAh Battery from zero lemon....
If we keep pulling out LG G5 Battery like this in order to use the given lg accessories ,I am having a fear of breaking this phone .For me Durability and Long lasting is a concern...
Idea of friends,.. Amazing!!
Great phone in general,.
Small battery capacity
Friends are too big: limits mobility
Phone is good but would have been much better if the G5 friends were made alittle compact, its screen size reduced to a 4.7 or 5.0 inch,. PPI to a 600 or more and a better battery capacity.
Thou still usin my G2,.
LG is going to loose it's market because of this reduction in battery size... I thought LG would enhance the battery life in Next product. But they reduced. Time to say good bye to LG
Daytan, 21 Feb 2016Too big (didn't iPhone teach anything with its ideal size of 4.7"?) and battery is disappointing. The iPhone is the last thing anyone wants to emulate. It's successful because people have never used bigger phones. The 6+/6s+ were both oversized for how small the screens were, thanks to the bezels.
With the type of screen (IPS LCD) it wouldn't really benefit of the savings intended by an ALWAYS ON DISPLAY, compared to an AMOLED.
Always On Display will surely require the backlight of the LCD screen lit, unlike to AMOLED that selectively turns pixels on.
AnonD-249419, 21 Feb 2016Worst design i've ever seen in smartphone industry.
well, it is much better compare to Samsung's never-changing design...
they just make the corner round or square a bit or make the home button bigger or smaller... at least LG dare to try the new design!!!

I wish there was some notes about how certain the various portions of the specifications are. The battery, flash memory and screen specifications seem oddly small.
There is also the lack of detail on the network technologies. Lack of CDMA isn't surprising, but suggests there is no hope of being compatible with Project Fi in the future. What LTE bands will the G5 support?
I have an lg g4 i am not happy with the battery of my phone and the other hand i wait for a good battery life in G5 but its so Ugly to see only 2800mh battery, Samsung is going up in battery life and Lg is going down WHY ?
Instant of calling it ugly I will call it fugly (futuristic design device ) just like when Note launch in late 2011 people called it too big, ugly odd design, no one going to buy, But now note series is king of phablets
Daytan, 21 Feb 2016Too big (didn't iPhone teach anything with its ideal size of 4.7"?) and battery is disappointing. If 4.7' digonal is so perfect, way apple make the iPhone s6 plus on the first place, bkz they also thought about boys also now :-)
