[deleted post]well, i thank LG for making this algorithm on G5, LG did this to protect the phone but nevertheless, the display is not short of being spectacular...who cares about anands review and who paid them to make such review on the screen.. very unfair review...

simmi123, 29 May 2016That's not dim. low light compare with amoled display. I see its low light. but not too low.Of course it's too dim, try placing G5 and S7 on a table and ask 100 people about the brightness, you'll see that most will pick S7.

MioandUs, 26 May 2016I Agree 1000% with you!!!! LG G5 has: True, better, full color spectrum ips screen instead of... moreBull...
This is from Gsmarena's G5 vs S7 comparison:

G5:
Color accuracy is good (average deltaE of 5.3) though not as good as a calibrated display.

S7:
Color rendering is at a pro level with average deltaE of 1.7 (max is 2.3) for Basic mode.

Samsung is much better, if you need color accuracy of course.

Beebob88, 29 May 2016Not dim at all if you choose manual set it the eay you like. Every unit will be like that, dim and dark. Even on manual and set to maximum brightness it will still look dim especially if you will compare it to any Super Amoled mobiles.
It is not a defect as far as I know, it is just a way to preserve energy, LG decided to limit the maximum brightness of this panel.
Problem is - they won't let you control it, at manual and maximum brightness the display is too dim but we all know it can be brighter because it is much brighter when set to automatic and with direct sun light. LG - let us set the brightness to real possible maximum!

I can honestly say this phone is there best. But got to watch out for the fakes
Battery is as good as any other phone on the market so no real disappointment there. I know build quality isn't consistent but they can only get better in the long run and lg will learn from this im sure. The screen brightness is great dont know why people are complaining, i like the coating over the metal dose"nt have to be cold to be quality anyway 9/10 LG

Faseeha, 15 May 2016The LG G5 vs the Sony Xperia Z5? Opinions please as I am a Sony person and scared to make the ... moreWill easily recommend the the G5 over the Z5, but then I would not really recommend any Sd810 based device (especially a Sony one), in the words of Anandtech: "heat-pipe thermal dissipation system is a quite worrying characteristic of the phone and should in no way be seen as a positive feature"

Sony saw the need to include not one but two heat-pipes in the Z5....now what does that tell you?

I would recommend the G4 over the Z5, so the G5 is an obvious choice.

I have got some more experience with it. Its battery lasts more with always on dispaly off. It lasted 42 hours with 5 hours talk time and normal use. And stanby is better as at night 12am I had 9% battery with wifi on and at morning 9 am it had 5% left. Camera features and settings are awesome as I have never seen as lowest shutter speed like dslr 30s bulb mode on a phone camera. And raw dng capture is good.

I sent the G5 back I bought off Amazon yesterday and at first I thought it was great when it first arrived at 6 in the afternoon but by 11 that night the power button had become loose and the finger print scanner had stopped working completely,LG what the hell have you done why can't you make a durable phone,my G4 is far superior to the G5 build quality wise and I will be sticking with the G4 now and until I maybe get a HTC m10
