LG Android Rumors

LG may be late to the party, but at least it’s bringing the right goods – Snapdragon 845 specifically. It will be used in the upcoming LG G7 ThinQ and it will provide a speed boost over the S835 chip inside the LG V30. In case you missed it, the new G7 is coming on May 3 (next Thursday).

Allow us to introduce the competitors. The LG G7 packs four Kryo 385 Gold cores (Cortex-A75 based) and for Silver cores (A55 based). They are built on a 10 nm LPP process and are paired with 4 GB of RAM.

In the other corner is the original LG V30. It has four Kryo 280 cores (A73 based) and four more cores (A53 based). They are build on an earlier 10 nm LPE process and also have 4 GB of RAM to play with.

GeekBench 4.1 (multi-core)

Higher is better

  • LG G7 (pre-production)
    8979
  • LG V30
    6237

GeekBench 4.1 (single-core)

Higher is better

  • LG G7 (pre-production)
    2312
  • LG V30
    1903

Geekbench doesn’t test for it, but the graphics performance on the 6.1” QHD+ screen will see a noticeable boost as well.

The question is why you don't expect a flagship in 2018 to have at least 6GB RAM? With 4GB apps reload when you multitask.
