Still a very good phone for multimedia (especially music), web browsing, and light gaming at 2025. Camera is also good enough for specific tasks. Only have to change the battery once after the first one died, and the buttons starts to fall off, but can be bought and replaced easily. Currently using self-built LOS 22.1 (which means no VoLTE, less banking apps), which may extend the security lifetime of this phone for around 2-3 years more if the hardware don't fail on me.

Any iss... moreif u like to play some games then i dont recommend you updating to A12, i was playing wildrift in A12 and mid game the phone just basically freeze. also the ram management is bad in A12

My sim was constantly dropping my service and connections, would even display NO SIM FOUND. I eventually just had to get a new one (same model). It seems it was a defect, but I haven't had any issues with the replacement; had for quite a few years now.

Has anybody experienced an issue where the LG G8 will not re-connect to your home wi-fi when you leave the house and come back home? When this happens, I have to disable wi-fi and mobile data in my phone and then turn them back on. Or sometimes, I might need to restart the phone so the wi-fi works again?

Anonymous, 05 Jul 2024How is the battery on the phone ? Couldn't tell you in hours, but when new, the battery life was excellent. After about 4 years, it dropped drastically, and then the battery bulged out the back of the phone pretty dramatically. I used it another year after that, but as of today, a full charge would get me 15 minutes as long as I wasn't using the camera. It went from 95% to 55% in 15 minutes, and then suddenly just shut off at 55%, claiming no battery power. So anyway, yeah, solid first 3 years, excellent, followed by a pretty sudden and dramatic drop, and this was before the battery blew out physically. Loved the phone though while it lasted, but that bulge bent the back cover pretty badly, so I just bought a new phone.

Honestly LG did a good job on this gadget, its been my favourite: Nice display, good cameras with no bumps the phone, fits well in my small hands and pocket, phones runs very smooth... lg please come back.

2) I used SparkOS, but I switched to Corvus OS 3.1 (A12.1) as I had problems with audio playback with the DAC on Spark. LineageOS 20 seems like a good A13 ROM as well.

3. Do you have Volte and/or Wifi calling?

I got my LG G8 for a week now. Had trouble flashing custom ROMs, but realized I needed to format data (to remove encryption) first.
Currently running an A13 ROM, this thing is much more faster now compared to Stock ROM. Display quality and brightness seems better than expected, though there's this pink tinting if you shift the device a little. Also, even though bottom bezel is thinner than G7, the side and top bezel seems just slightly thicker.
For $100, I'm glad to have owned one.
