EdqarRD, 13 Sep 2021I have an LG G8x and I have not yet received the update of A11.I have ordered mine on Flipkart the Vietnamese version. And it was all fine until I update to a11, after that my battery started taking more than 8 hours to fully charge. I confirmed it's not too with hardware, the software battery adaptive charging has some serious bugs. Now there's no day I haven't blamed myself and lg for the update which ruined my battery charging speed.

Anyone experiencing low volume over bluetooth recently? My AirPods used to sound very loud until only recently. I can confirm that this is not due to the latest upgrade to v.11.

Then we have to pay for a new motherboard. The new motherboard will be of Vietnamese type and again you can downgrade to Android 10 only.
In short, on these Vietnamese built LG G8X, you cannot have native DSD playback.

Yes, my version is V20e-IND-XX. Not upgraded so far as I am happy with it. A couple of bugs and all, but I'm ok, and with your info, I'd rather not update now. Can't lose the audio power this phone has, not even a little.
I checked and mine turns out to be Made in Veitnam edition. I guess downgrading for DSD is not possible for me.

I'm NOT telling you to g... moreMade quite an important discovery while visiting the nearby LG India Service Center. I was there to downgrade one of my LG G8X to Android 9, so as to enable native DSD playback support. Unfortunately from Android 10, LG decided to drop this support in software level.
In India we have two types of LG G8X's:
1) Manufactured in India under LG India, sold in India both offline and online (Amazon) channels.
2) Manufactured in Vietnam under LG Vietnam, sold in India only online (Flipkart) channels.
Both Indian & Vietnamese built units get full warranty claims in India under LG India. However there is a catch. Both phones have slightly different motherboards and cannot be interchanged. And as Vietnam built G8X arrived late on Oct, 2020 with Android 10, it cannot be downgraded to Android 9 as the motherboards are different. Indian built units can be easily downgraded at official LG service centers to Android 9 as these were available to the public much earlier from Dec, 2019.
As both my G8X's were bought from Flipkart and hence Vietnamese units, I was only able to downgrade one of my G8X to Android 10 (1st version). While my other is running on Android 11.
My thoughts after using both units:
1) If you are an audio nut like me, and audio quality through headphone jack and stereo speakers performance are your 1st priority then stick to Android 10 (1st version) as shared below:
Software Version: V20e-IND-XX
Android Version: 10
Android security patch level: 01-Sep-2020
Top music players like USB Audio Player Pro (UAPP) will gel much better with bit perfect audio playback. You will get more richer sound, more details through headphone jack. Meridian tuning is more pronounced. Also the stereo speakers are much louder as you can feel the DTS:X has kicked in.
2) For everything else go for Android 11, just a more richer UI experience even though the jump from Android 10 to 11 is not that big. But you still can feel the polish while using the UI. The audio part have gone down slightly. Audio quality have slightly deteriorated at least through headphone jack via UAPP. The famous Meridian tuning sound signature seems lacking. If you do not compare both versions side by side you cannot notice the difference. However what is immediately noticeable is lack of punch from stereo speakers. Below is the latest version:
Software Version: V30a-IND-XX
Android Version: 11
Android security patch level: 01-Aug-2021
I doubt, after shutting down the LG mobile division early this year, LG no more wants to pay the huge yearly royalties to Meridian Audio or DTS. So they have silently removed those from software level which is evident when you compare both units side by side. Hope it helps!

As always performed hard factory reset after the update. UI is smooth and fluid with default RAM consumption of 3.4 GB, identical to my other LG G8X using Android 10. Found some neat new features introduced. I have not used it much after update, will do so in the weekends.
