This phone works good on Android 4.2 only. If you check GSMArena review of LG G Flex running Android 4.2, It got 97 hours endurance rating. Engadget and TrustedReviews also gave 9/10 for battery life. Kitkat update decreased its battery life later. I use my L23 for heavy gaming and battery last 4 hours on continuous gaming. I play daily from 6PM to 10PM. For continuous playing movies, It will last for 6-7 hours. I myself tested it. Battery gets full in 90 minutes with its original LG charger. Its camera can record Ultra HD videos. But 1 second adds 1mb to video file. 500 seconds video is of 500 mb. Very very clear videos. Double Tap to wake the screen is also a good option to turn ON the screen without pressing the power button. I added my TV in QRemote app. L23 is working as remote control. It works with AC, DVD players and Set Top Box also. 4G LTE signal reception is also good. It gets slightly warm while gaming only. USB OTG supports upto 64gb cards. Stereo speaker sound quality and its loud and clear. I bought LG QuickWindow case for it and it shows weather, Music player and clock through the small box. I got it for 320 dollars but it is available on ebay and amazon for around 250 dollars or equal currency. You won't get big battery and big screen together in mobile phones, but LG Flex gives us both things together in one piece. It is better than Nexus 5 and Galaxy S4 in terms of Internal memory, Sound quality and battery life. I used them both.

Its an okay phone, mine crashed and had to restart when i went on youtube a few times, the curve doesn't help it from cracking either. Other than that it's a good phone

Search on google. LG Viet Root L23. Select the first link. Or copy paste that link in Google Translate. I don't recommend rooting because the resellers already removed most of the japanese apps. And some normal apps are linked to system apps. I deleted one app that has name in Japanese language, and QRemote stopped working. Again i flashed the stock L23 rom for that one feature.

Can someone who has the LG G Flex L23 in either USA or Canada and is able to access 3G or 4GLTE please advise what carrier they are with? Much appreciated since I will be able to switch also and find out the configuration procedures.

Hey RamV,
If I do exactly what you are saying to root my L23 and install the new ROM you suggested, can I then be able to:
1) use 4G LTE on the device?
2) get Android OS updates newer than 4.2?
Thanks for your insight. If these answers are a positive "YES", then I will definitely do what you suggest.

I have purchased LG G Flex L23 mobile on May 05, 2015 and facing the problem of charging. It is taking 14-16 hours for full charging. Hourly rate of charging is 7-8 percent only. I monitored this problem for continuously 3 days and complained to seller as well as service provider e-bay but waiting for the resolution.

L23 and F340 are not good. Japanese and Korean language and apps still exist in them. Rooting and Custom ROM are available for them on Japanese websites. You have to use Google Translate every time to get help for them. eBay seller removed few japanese and korean apps. But if you factory reset, it starts with japanese language. D959, D950, LS 955 are american carrier unlocked. AT&T, T-Mobile or Sprint. These got kitkat update and are in English language by default. Buy one of these instead. Phone from eBay comes open sealed but Brand new. Sealed is opened to network unlock the phone. Comes with charger only.

Only the japanese version stopped getting the updates but all the other international versions are updated to Kitkat right ? I really love the G Flex. Can you please tell me how is the cosmetic condition of the phone that u got from ebay? Does it look like new?

Not a right decision to buy L23. Buying an unlocked phone for Rs.17000 in a country like India, where there is new phone release almost everyday. Better go for Asus Zenfone 2 550ML or Buy Oneplus One 64gb from ebay for Rs. 16990.

LG L23 is not worth buying for Rs.17000. I bought it for 22000 thinking it has all features like the G Flex international version. But no updates, stuck on Android 4.2 and No FM radio. You have to do the 3G/4G APN setting manually. Good thing is battery, price, build quality, Works as AC,TV, Set top box remote and Unique curved look.
