AnonD-186556, 14 Apr 2015Hi As of now, there is no way to upgrade to 4.3 or above for LGL23U r one of them screwed by AU Japan, AU has no plan for upgrading this device yet. Though the phone spec is great quad, 2gb ram still the AU service is primitive limited to android 4.2.2 it sucks. Tell ppl not to buy scrap from AU Japan mobiles.

Hi
I am not worried about not having LG logo.
It is much better to root LGL23 and flash the only available custom ROM, which is Sphinx ROM.
You will loose root, but this is 100X better than LGL23 AU KDDI version.

Go to settings -> About Phone -> Software Information -> Software Version : If it LGL23* then it is japan, else it is from USA or Europe version.
If it LGL23, there is no Kitkat available as of now

Little costly but
Its AT&T KITKAT VERSION
Rooted with IOROOT
but not finding option to select network mode.
Got nillkin cover.
Seems good deal

erickins, 01 Apr 2015how did you know that it will not be updated to android kitkat?if you have got L23 model, check the official site for AU japan, L23 is no where mentioned in the handsets to be updated to Kitkat.
Also the firmware is deeply customized and unfortunately, we cannot flash other carrier firmware on to L23 model.

Depends upon the model you have.
If you are talking a generic US model, you are correct on Kitkat part though no official confirmation on Lollipop though.
If it L23, Japanese version which is sold on ebay.in, latest version is 4.2.2 and most probably you will not get kitkat or lollipop.
