... more@ Jay,
Try looking on 3's site, they have correct settings there, and will send them out via SMS.
get a grip..you had bad luck, and NO, the change from 3g to 2g, does not involve a signal loss of 30 seconds, it's instant...you have issues with your network, or signal, so look into that.
No, theres not much you can do, apart from move with the times, the old folder style is dead.
There are different apps on the market though, of which some you may like, for chat.
is there anything i can do to change the sms settings? i like it as normal not the thread like, help please..
is good phone for 99 squid! before you buy this phone really! make sure where you live have good signal because it'll drive you crackers jumping from 3g to 2g like biscuits said. :-)
avoid this phone at all costs! i had 2, both have broke within a week!! and when they do work its not very good when ever you lose 3g signal to 2g you lose all signal sometimes for 30 seconds or so! before it goes to 2g,

The Russian LG website have official stated in their blog that the LG gt540 Optimus will get a 2.1 update in September, but no word on the UK english LG site!
It seems that their will be no more updates to Android 2.2 and above beacuse of LG's lack of support and that they will be bringing out new phones with 2.2 in them.
Freefaller, 20 Aug 2010Something is happening that I DON'T like !
I sometimes get a notification in the top bar that... more@ Freefaller,
Disable "Enable Background Data"..but that's all it does, check for updates, for the likes of google maps, etc, it won't download them, and i doubt you would notice any lowering of your limit due to it.
Any standard micro SD card would do, to be honest, from a reliable manufacturer, like Sandisk or Peak, for example.
But look for class rating..a 4 or 6 would do fine, which most will be.
Carbonize, 15 Aug 2010Except price and available apps you mean? here in UK Wave is £300 on Pay&Go but Opti... moreI agree on the apps side the LG wins, as far as the price diff goes i think it reflects on how much better the wave is, its worth every penny.
I have not had a single problem or issue with this phone. No crashing or freezing it's fast reliable & of good quality. Even camera is decent outdoors but no flash
One more thing about the possible 2.2 Upgrade:
The Customer Support guy told on the phone that there is definitely going to be an upgrade to 2.2 in September.
Still, true or not, with 1.6 the unit works fine..
Thank you very much.
Manufactures should give a small "Android Operation Manual" to Android's first time users.
Very fast little phone, Android's original Home (by Home selector) is much more responsive than LG's. But Lg's is more eye pleasing and organized for the first use.
About the Micro SD Card question, I Suppose the rule is: the faster the better.. right? Is there any specs (other than speed) about micro SD cards I should care about?
