and I just learned that not even the almighty Xperia X10 has multi-touch... darn.
And I was looking forward to trying a NES emulator. No multi-touch means I can't get mario to run and jump... :(

I want my Vlingo!! (only works with 2.x +)
I was going t buy a new phone and was considering this phone. should i buy it?
Funny how quiet it's gone on the 2.1 firmware update.
First it was rumoured to be September 14th, but that came and went. Then it was September 21st, and that passed also.
Now there are no estimates on when it will come, (if ever), and LG are saying nothing.
I think I'm going to wait until christmas and see if I can get my hands on SonyEricsson X8 or LG P800. Both have similar specs to this GT540, but with a capacitive screen, meaning multitouch!! :)
Hi, Ive had my phone for a week and the auto rotate screen stopped working after about 4 days, Does anyone know how to change it so it rotates again?

Anonymous, 23 Sep 2010@Diluen What's new with your phone after you customized it?Enabling to use Titanium Backup as well as applications that require root access.
I bought the phone a couple of days ago and i have to say; I am very, VERY pleased with it! It has everything that you need, good hardware, it's robust and the best mobile-software; ANDROID FOREVER :D
One single "downer" which i experienced today is that i can't download anything from android market, it only says "Download starting!" and it stays like that:( It seems this is a common problem with android in the last time, and it's happening users around the world with different phones/android versions...hope that Google releases a fix soon :P
Anonymous, 23 Sep 2010@Diluen - You root your phone, really. Thats messed up man. This is a family websiteHey! I love customizing my phone man. Unlocking it's full potential is cool.
I understand this phone will work in Japan as it has UMTS 2100. Is that right? Can someone comment please. Thanks.

Yes, if wifi is either OFF, or not in range, it will use mobile internet and ur operator will charge you.
But if you go into Settings > Wireless controls and UNTICK the "Mobile Network" box, it will disconnect from mobile internet.
That's what i set my phone to almost all of the time, and it DOESN'T impair your phone calls or text messaging.
-Also, if you use an app called Y5 - Battery Saver, it will turn on Wifi ONLY for wifi networks you 'remembered' and when whey're in range.
One more question. On an online store, they state that this phone requires a permanent conection to the internet. So, when not in range of wifi, it always reverts to 3G or GPRS? Or can I configure it so that it only uses wifi (if available) and never reverts to 3G or GPRS or UMTS or any other internet access which requires access to through the operator?
