It affects the full res ... moreHey pal, I think it is because it shoots video clips in AVI file format utilizing the DivX 5 video codec.
Can we set the shooting mode in other other format.
I think DivX always cause the audio video sync problem.
This is really a big put off for me...

I found today on ebay unlocked Renoir- GBP 364,99. I'm sorry, too expensive for me. More gadget than KU990 but i still with.

had one for a few days from O2 and on the whole it's pretty good, but i'm taking it back because it only plays about half the divX and Xvid i put on. geo taging doesn't work and O2 have removed the maps and downloading google maps doesn't work, the version for this phone has no gps support for some strange reason. browser is really annoying too, touch controls are way to fiddly and don't respond when clicking links. c905 it is then, i'll just have to forget about playing AVI's.

The Renoir has Been released on Three, I think they giv the best offer : £27 a month, free phone 300 mix n match as well as 120 video call mins. I wish i could get Tomtom on this thing!!! LG Renoir ftw!!!

Had it 4 days, mixed opinions. Texting tricky on screen but getting better with practice. Had 10 years practice on "button" phones, 4 days on touch screen.
Video problems. Plays some divx files, rejects some. Same with xvid. Don't know why yet. Should really play any divx/xvid as it says it supports them.
Video camera, audio and video out of sync. Makes it useless for any decent movie shots.
Orange have changed appearance of home screen and logos. Removed GPS Maps in favour of their, chargeable and not operational yet, "Orange Maps" They too have added 5 non deletable bookmarks. The built in browser i found very difficult to click on any link, repeatedly poking at the screen with nothing happening. And the press-hold to zoom percentage seems completely random, unless i haven't figured it out. I've installed Opera Mini instead.
Camera seems good, though does not save straight to memory card, despite setting it to do so in Memory Manager and Camera Settings.
PC suite software is terrible. Best to change usb settings to Mass storage mode and add files by drag & drop.
On the whole it's a pretty cool phone, just the niggling details, i'm going to stick with it. Maybe there will be updates to help the lack of full divx/xvid support. Anyone else tried changing their divx files to suit it, i.e. audio codecs or bit rates/video resoulutions?

Vikram, 01 Nov 2008Hi, Ive noticed that the Renoir is not beingcompared to the Samsung Innov8...Is it because... moreDear Vikram , it depends directly on you . you know Symbian OS ( especially S60 ) has the biggest amount of softwares ( technical or entertaining ) . If you wanna use these softwares , Renoir will disappoint you and I think a 2.8" screen is enough for a phone !I myself always prefer Symbian phones . Beside it you can buy another sim-card for a java ( SE T700 ) or S40 product ( N 5310 for example ) . I'm really satisfied with using these 2 products ( S60 & S40 ) together .
