The battery has just died and I only got my phone 48 hours ago. After fully charging up the phone on Tues afternoon and only making one text and one phone call died thurs lunch. No good!
Re: Java Games - I tried to transfer a .jar file to the phone via bluetooth (cable was at home), but the Games/Apps folder does not show, so I dropped it in the Others folder, but when I go to the file the only options I get are to send it on or delete it.
So, I'm still stumped as to how to get .jar files from pc to Games folder.
just got this too :D
shame about the text tone not being customisable or loud
has anybody figured out a way to put java games on yet?
can`t wait to get mine, will be the first time using a LG so i hope it don`t backfire
the phone is nice on a whole
reasonably price thank GOD
i will let you know more when i recieve mine
I was thinking the same thing. The message tone is very quiet. I've swicthed the vibrate on so it rattles across my desk. That is a pain that there is no adjustment for it.
Got the phone yesterday and I love it. One annoying thing is that the phone memory allows you to add 1000 contacts... yet it only allows 7 Groups with 20 contacts per Group. Now my maths aren't great... but what do I do with all my poor friends who are not assigned to a Group... they will be so upset! ;)
Does anyone else have the same problem I'm having? The text message alert is totally inaudible and there doesn't appear to be any way to increase the volume. You can change the volume of most of the tones, but not text message alert, I can't continue to use the phone if this is the best it can do, I'm missing important texts because I just don't hear it.
errmmm ....there is NO expandable memory (memory card slot) on this phone, and only has 1.3 mp camera!
COULD HAVE done much better than this lg ..come on!
Damn! LG has released another 'Chocolate' in Korea.
Here have a look:
how do you get call timers on this phone???
tnx in advance sean
Cheers Marcus - 100kb is hardly a big file is it? Oh well - the phone still looks sweet!
This is for Tim
A sim card can only hold 10 text messages, then all other messages will automatically go to phone. It's not a fault, just user error.
I love the way but the only problem is when you trying to compose a message, it gets 'laggy'. Btw does anyone know how to install java games and application in the phone? i really wanna install opera mini in it thanx
Just wondering how many texts this phone can store, and what the mp3 sound quality is like?
I wonder this because my current phone only holds about 200 texts :|
@Simon and @Guy
The Black one suits straigh guys I believe.lol.They have white and well pink for girls. So relax.
To all the owners:
Is there any option to change the RED lights on the touch-keys?? blue would be perfect.
I just got the LG KG800 and think it is a great phone, however there is one thing that is bugging me. When I put my SIM card into the phone I already had 10 text messages on it. When I went to the text menu it showed it as I had 10 messages on the SIM. Now whenever I get send a text it shows up as being on the phone memory. Surely the SIM memory must be full before it goes to the phone? In the manual it says that messages can be moved, but I can't find a way of swapping between the memories! Can anyone help??
as guy said is this a girls phone??? ot is it sutable for a staight guy??? plz
Stan - Thanks for taking the time to post your findings! My only comment would be that obviously no phone is perfect. Take the Motorola V3 for example, a stunning looking phone but had several little niggles like not being able to store more than one contact number per contact etc. At the end of the day we just have to think that the Chocolate phone is a one of a kind (just like the V3 in it's day) and LG should be applauded for bringing something truly unique to the market.
Tielman - In the PC Sync software you should see, in the Phonebook page for example, the word 'Phonebook' selected and next to this 'Outlook'. Click on Outlook and then on the 'Read' button and it should read the contacts you have in outlook and display them in this window. Select the contacts you wish to transfer and click on the right arrow shown at the very centre of the PC Sync application. This should transfer contacts from outlook to your phone. The same can be done with the Schedule and the Memo.
Ferry - yes the Korean version of the Chocolate phone had a memory card slot but the phone was thicker than what we have in the UK. Also, the Korean version didn't have Bluetooth which this one (thankfully!!) has. Yeah, it doesn't have loads of memory but I find that it's enough for what I do with it. You know, take some pictures, shoot some video, listen to the odd MP3 tune. I guess it's really down to taste. Thing is, if you really want to listen to music and stuff then I suggest getting a Video Ipod, much more suited to the job than any mobile phone out in the market.
Marco - battery so far has been excellent and I charge mine about every 3 days or so. The menu system is really easy to use, very intuitive and the touch keypad is very cool.
