I just watched the video from MWC showcasing the LG Arena's S-Class user interface, and I must admit, I am not impressed at all. Does anyone know if the interface looks so terrible because it's a beta or something? Don't get me wrong, it LOOKS really nice (the graphics are beautiful), but it also looks like a pain in the a$$ to use.

Too bad this gr8 fone is suffering from incomplete specifications because of this site.
Terminator, 03 Mar 2009Oh I forgot to ask if it can use the Led flash light as a torch like on SE k850 and omnia!! Of course!
Oh I forgot to ask if it can use the Led flash light as a torch like on SE k850 and omnia!!
Of course bigger screen is better but don't forget that the mor it's big and the more it will drain battery!
Perhaps LG couldn't manage a good battery for their first full touch screen so that's why they sticked to the 3''
About typing,it's how they manage the virtual keyboard that's important and not always the size of the screen,Exemple: the nokia 5800 virtual keyboard is better to use than the iphone while the iphone is bigger of 0.3''...
Anonymous, 02 Mar 2009Ok,so what do you really want? If the screen was bigger, the phone won't have its compact form... moreFrom my earliest post I already stated my opinion and suggest to its screen size which is at least 3.5 to make typing easier, browsing easier, photos and videos displayed in bigger size, and so on. Many advantages can be yielded through bigger screen. It will still be compact enough i believe.
Farrokh, 02 Mar 2009ok if yr hands r normal then maybe yr mind is not mature enough to make use of a 3" display.
... moreI beg your pardon, What are mature minded and handshaking to do with typing in small screen size? Can you explain?
Farroks my friend, look what have those competitors done to their screen size. Beautiful aren't they? Big is beautiful
Lg has serious problem with their screen size. Hope they'll make a bigger screen on their next product lines.
is thare a black version or only the silver one? in this video it a black one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ODxjaKIKuU&NR=1
batrambo, maybe you know

Kyle, 02 Mar 2009Well I think I have a very normal sized finger tip mate. But I doubt yours since your last com... moreOk,so what do you really want?
If the screen was bigger, the phone won't have its compact form,I hate the size of Tosiba TG01 and Samsung OmniaHD,if it have a Qwerty keypad, them the phone should be thick, like the Prada II and the Xperia X1!
Terminator, 02 Mar 2009It will be mine!
It will replace my toyish nokia 5800
But I want to know some more things:
... moreI do agree about the TOYish 5800.
speaker, Rington volume, and everything related to SOUND is simply impressive.BatRambo in this forum who claims to have a pre-release unit said so, and i agree with him since the fone hosts Dolby Mobile.
Sunlight legibility is above average(Batrambo).
u can use ALL Java games. hans on!
also full Google Mobile Service.
Pricce! i just GUESS...around 500 US dollars.
Kyle, 02 Mar 2009Well I think I have a very normal sized finger tip mate. But I doubt yours since your last com... moreok if yr hands r normal then maybe yr mind is not mature enough to make use of a 3" display.
maybe the new Toshiba is good for u its got 4.1" screen. If u learn to minimize yr (probable) handshake, maybe u can text on that.(i hope so)
Anonymous, 02 Mar 2009Seeing as the qwerty-keyboard is available only in landscape-mode you should do your calculati... moreIf you notice my earlier posts that dedicated to Farroks I asked him to imagine Lg Arena screen as Lg Viewty since both devices have similar screen size. That's why the Lg Arena will be hard to type on.
Never did I do calculation intended to measure the Lg Viewty (although Lg viewty is bad in texting itself given the landscape keyboard that will close entire screen/ hard to edit and review text plus the alphanumeric keys also suck since it as well closes a third of the screen-ps.personal opinion) please notice my previous post the calculation was meant for Lg Arena. Lg Viewty could be better in texting rather than LG Arena,Why? The big thing is Lg Arena doesn't have any jog wheel (as viewed in photos http://www.gsmarena.com/lg_mwc_09-review-319p2.php) Unlike viewty, high probability or certainly that Lg Arena will add arrow keys through virtual keypads or keyboards (given possibilities that it is able to view full-qwerty in normal or landscape mode) In both ways the qwerty or alphanumeric keypads will share extra spaces for the navigational arrows making it narrower.
Let's recalculate, I'm sure everybody knows Trigonometry very well. A 3'(7.62cm) screen size with 4.5cm width should have 6.14cm height. Qwerty keyboard viewed horizontally will only have 4.5 mm (far from aforementioned standard it has not included the arrow keys if they're placed beside the qwerty) and if viewed vertically the space for keyboard will be narrowed by arrow keys by approx.1.5 to 2 cm.So 6.14-1.5 = 4.64 mm (again, far from aforementioned standard). Okay given the arrow keys to be put on above the keyboards like Symbian OS S60 (see http://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_5800_xpressmusic-review-308p5.php)
Thus 6.14cm/10= 6.14mm Gosh! Wow it's so much textable but alas you will only have very small area to view what you write alot of awful things might happen.
The useful thing here might as well be alphanumeric keypads, so enjoy using the alphanumeric keypads and you'll probably see only one line or two as you type since additional arrows are added. Painful. Worse than Viewty perhaps.
I do like the features though, but again the screen size lets me down.
It will be mine!
It will replace my toyish nokia 5800
But I want to know some more things:
-Screen under direct sunlight
-Will it have many games to take profit of the huge resolution and gfx chip?
-Does it have a Weather app?
-Wap connection compatible?
Kyle, 02 Mar 2009Well I think I have a very normal sized finger tip mate. But I doubt yours since your last com... moreSeeing as the qwerty-keyboard is available only in landscape-mode you should do your calculations using the height of the device. The screen-height is approx. 68 mm yielding 6,8 mm per button. This is stil too small according to your standards however the qwerty-keyboard on the Iphone is only ~53 mm wide. If you choose to use the alphanumeric-keyboard you will have four "buttons" distributed over ~44 mm which gives 11 mm per "button". Also know as a whole lot more than 7,6mm.
That takes care of your blatant disregard for facts.
The second thing is your references to reviews. I actually toke the time to check them the quotes you picked out are surely supporting your point of view. The only problem is that are actually more people who have the exactly opposite opinion thinking that texting is a breeze in that perticular review.
