can any of you guys confirm that samsung star wifi is real? and the new star with tv function isn't a china phone? saw the picture of the star tv man it looks good.. but i can't seem to find any articles or news about these 2 phones..

You need a media converter for that..
Theres a lot of free media converters on the internet..
Just browse google or youtube, just type - free download media converter..
If your using windows, convert your video to .avi or .wmv so that you can watch it on your windows media player..
Or oh yeah.. i remember! there's this one site where you can convert your media files without downloading the media converter itself on your computer.. Its less risky too.. here's the link http://www.zamzar.com
Here's the step by step procedure..
1.You just have to upload your video (like in your case, your video from your cell)
2. Then you have to select what video format you like it to be converted.. Let's say for example your computer is running on windows, so just simply choose wmv so that you can play it on windows media player..
3. Then type in your email address.. (This is important because the site will send your converted file to your email add..)
4. And then go to your email, open it.. there will be a notification from zamzar that your file is converted.. (this may take a minute or so.. just wait, refresh your email add if u haven't receive it yet)
5. Then read the message coming from zamzar.. theres a link there, click it and there you will be redirected to there site and there you go, your file is ready to be download.. Its that easy.. you can now play your cellphone videos to your computer =)

And the samsung star also has this feature where u can talk into 2 persons simultaneously.. more like a three way.. (favors more to the sun users in the philippines because of their unlimited calls)
Anyway haven't tried that one yet..
Y don't u buy a samsung star? its about the same price of lg or should i say maybe a thousand more than the lg in philippines..
In greenhills u can get it 9,500 - 9,700.. ofcourse memory card included.. And i'm assuring u, ur money is worth every penny wid this..
I'm confuse before on what to get., the cookie or the star.. Eventually, i decided to get the star.. battery performance is superb.. and i think its really a great, wise decision of me..
The feautures are also great, also great camera (ofcourse it needs light due to the fact it lacks flash but the quality is acceptable..)
If you want a budget touch screen phone, get the star.. But i'm not telling anyone not to buy the cookie..
Cookie is also great but star is better.. (well in my opinion and to the so many peolpe i've asked)

1.Just connect your Cookie in mass storage mode. creste a new folder in you memory card and put all you tracks in that folder.
2.Create a playlist on your phone and rearrange the order to the way you like 'em..

This phone looks sharp, sleek but understatedl... morev10k was probably the newest version last 4/24/09 but there are definitely newer version available also at the mylgcookie thread. and the only reason you need to update anyway is there were some major bugs in earlier versions before v10d.
like the restarting/ rebooting problem, phone crashing when viewing the gallery, frequent freezing, calculator bug, etc. if you dont experience any of these, there's no need to update really..

I just recently purchased a desktop charger and mobile car charger for my lg cookie via ebay. It cost me roughly Php2,400 (USD50. It is so cool! I can now charge less than 2 hours from my previous 3 hours!
I also recently purchased this jabra bluetooth headset which is compatible for my cookie....i soooooooooo love it. lol

Okay..I got my VB Cookie yesterday from Amazon. This phone looks sharp, sleek but understatedly elegant!
Coming from a long ago iPAQ (2) and most recently a CECT user, this phone by far is d' best, bar none...
I have yet to get acquainted of all the functions and trickeries of this fab fone though...
Btw, I checked the firmware ver and this is what I got:
KP500AT-00-V10k-ARB-XX-APR-24-2009
Anyone know if this is the most recent?
Based from the box and the firmware (v10k), this unit is destined for the UAE market.
Also in a mylgcookie thread, someone mentioned that this is the latest...based from the date 4/24/09.
Can someone confirm this?
Otherwise, either a v10d or as others had stated...a yet "newest" v10y firmware version update is planned.

So i end up buying a star.. well its ok.. nothing to be excited about.. my first touch screen phone.. But i'm still curious on what lg has.. i also want to explore the features of the cookie and what it has to offer.. My gf will be buying her own cookie next week.. I can't wait to try her cookie (damn).. I just want to compare the two phones.. I want to know if my decision on buying the samsung star is great or bad..
But overall i think both phones are good.. Lg and Samsung are really competing for each other.. But who cares, where just cellphone users who support there products..

qw, 06 Sep 2009hey kokey.. wat do u mean by overcharging it for 8hours? should i do this right after i remove... morewell its not really official sop, its more of a tradition really.hehe passed down from experience by almost all phone owners. almost everyone i know does this to new phone batteries. i for one have done it to all my brand new phone batteries since my 2001. and i've proven it's effectiveness to all my phones up to the cookie.
anyway, brandnew cookie battery can power up your phone for a while. just drain it by playing with it. once it shuts down, find a time so you can charge it for 8hours straight despite being full at about 2&1/2hours. and remember it should be off. after 8hours remove it and use your phone as normal.
after that you can charge your phone normally next time it drains. but make sure you drain it before charging it normally atleast for the first few cycles.
most new batteries supposedly don't need this initial charging but based on the number of complaints i've read, its best to just do it. its only 1 time anyway..

hey kokey.. wat do u mean by overcharging it for 8hours? should i do this right after i removed it from the box? Is it the sop for all brand new battery? i'm sori because i'm not familiar with this things.. can i browse it for a little bit after removing from the box, then charge it afterwards?

qw, 06 Sep 2009is it ok to buy a lower version than v10d then i'll be the one to upgrade?i guess if you know what you're doing it's ok. there's a step by step instruction anyway. but if something happens to your phone i dunno if your warranty covers it. its best if you buy a cookie with updated software already installed. there are a lot of stores selling this phone anyway, most of then have updated it already.
