Maybe ill try to switch simcards (I have two fones for two networks) on my way home since it happens most of the time when i'm inside a moving vehicle.

if you are using European Open version, borrow other's and check.
As many other people do not have problem like yours, SIM card also can be the problem.

I watched a whole movie without my fone shutting down so I thought it was ok. Unfortunately, the "random shutdown" occurred when I was already at the bus. not once but thrice. planning to go back on saturday... oh well...
hi, yes you can ride the fx at the back of megamall. it will take about 15-20 mins or sometimes 10 mins if there is no traffic, about the software upgrade you jsut need to wait at around 5 - 10 minutes. :P

for me COOKIE is the best phone i ever had. i had a samsung phone worth 25k, it is a slide phone and a good phone but LG cookie is better for me and very very cheap... i love it...
to zainalu , about the battery life ... i cant really tell but in my case when iam using it for calls and playing games at the same time it lasted for 1 day but if i will not use it in a day , i mean rarely use it will last for 2 days...
to auzgauz, inform LG right away so that they can report it to LG korea, the technician told me to do that if you will still encounter the same prob after the update so that they can do something about it. they need a customer complaint so that they can report it ASAP if the new software will not work. did they check the hardware of your phone? i never encountered any big prob since i bought it or even before i updated the software.
