well maybe i really need to buy a memory card ASAP so the phone won't hang. i hope that solves the problem. i hope the memory's just the problem. actually, when i was posting this i checked my phone and there its turned off again. waaahhh!!! whats the prob??? dont know what to think anymore...
my primary storage setting is external memory ( 2GB microsd), currently 40% free and 60% in use(240 mp3's, 36 jar games & 36 36 3gp format tom & jerry cartoon collection). i played T&J video for 2 hrs, my phone didnot hang.
sorry, I missed your great explanation on how to install jad and jar.
So I guess my follow up question is...can I install to my main memory? I don't have a microsd yet.
Does this installation process work for other applications? I plan to install operamini as my main web browser. They say it'll improve the web experience on the phone. Thanks
I had similar problems when using my lg phone as a modem but this is what finally worked.
When the LG pc suite asks you to make a probfile, use the following
I get 460 kbps connection speeds.
Futhermore, lock your phone to use only 3g. It automotically scans for the strongest signal (2G/3G/GPRS). Even with a strong signal, GPRS can only reach speeds of about 60 or so kbps (in short it sucks). 3g gives me over 400kbps. In short weak signaled 3g is still a hell of a lot better than strong signalled GPRS.
1) ON installing JAR files...
So I just copy jar files directly into the others folder? But when I launch the LG suite, it only shows the following folders...
My images, My videos and My sounds. How do I access the other parts of my phone to install the Jar files.
2) Plust How do I use Jad files?
3) Is there a way to hardreset my LG PHone, like Hard resetting a pocket pc? too make everything a clean slate on my memory?
4) Can I install java games unto a storage card (microsd)?
5) do Jar and Java files leave foot prints in my phone's memory(why I want to install everything in a microsd). Thanks
for MT and arcangel, thank you 4 the infos. i gr8ly appreciate it so much!
i am using 64% of my handset common memory but i am not experiencing any freeze up or hang up.
i'm only using 51% of the handset common memory. with that usage of the memory, could it be the cause of the unit to shutdown by itself???
hope someone could answer this.
Don't maxed out the phone memory. If I'm not mistaken it is the cause of shutdown.
use any 3gp converter to convert your favorite avi video file to 3gp format.
games can be downloaded @

good day to all...
just copy the .jad & .jar files into the Games & Application Folder of your external memory then go to MyStuff, open Other folder then select the .jad file then Launch the application. thats it!
This phone is great for the price! It's perfect 3g for all. Just one question. I always seem to get to versions of programs for this phone...JAD and JAR. How do I use these to run programs? do I run it on windows to install unto the phone or put it directly into my phone and run them as executables. The lg ku250 uses MIDP 2.0 Java, Is that the save as J2ME? will all programs for J2ME work for MIDP2.0?
