I just got the viewty and I love it. The only problem is the settings. I don't know how to change the clock with out changing the alarm clock and I can't find a way to get to the pre recorded ringtones. Otherwise it is great.
Brilliant Phone. Had it for a month now, and still can't keep my hands off it. My wife teases me for constantly playing with it.
The UI interface is delightful: large, accessible virtual buttons (I NEVER) use the stylus, very easy to navigate, eye-candy icons. And scrolling down lists using a thumbflick is worth the price of admission.
I love that you can transfer files (games, music, photos) from your PC to the phone using simple USB drag and drop, without installing software on your PC.
Camera and Video are fantastic. The people who complain about the quality need to change the settings (5M for pics, Wide for Video) for world-class results. It's the default quality settings that are mediocre. Read the manual!!
The camera is delightfully easy to use, and changing the settings on the touchscreen is pleasant. The phone stands upright on its side so you can take timed self-photos, or video yourself doing whatever.
Media: Functions well as an MP3 player, and you can fast-forward and rewind videos while watching them- you can't do this with Nokia. Thumbnail views of photos and videos are convenient and user-friendly.
Organiser functions like calendar, calculator, world-clock, etc are so user-friendly and eye-candy rich, I use them even though I never used to on previous phones. VIEWTY has replaced my alarm clock!
Ok, weaknesses: Menus are a bit complicated, but if you choose the main home screen, all the common icons are one touch away. Loading of media galleries is slow (especially if you use the atrocious camera playback function- avoid it), but nothing you can't get used to.
A few minor annoyances, but most of them you quickly get used to, and from what I've read, many people simply don't take the time to understand the phone before pulling their hair out. Some people (wrongly)say there's no way to mass-delete messages!
I was a diehard Nokia user, got annoyed with their lack of touchscreen phones and worsening ergonomics, took a risk on the VIEWTY, and will never look back. Perfectly satisfied.
I love my viewty though , I agree with the camera matters, it takes 5mp really great pics on daylight, and indoor pics are kinda crap. I watched movies while on the go, play touchscreen games, lots of viewty game downloda her: http://www.mobilesmania.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=50457
i just got it 2 days back n culdnt resist my hands off it... it is so amazing n has everything.. Although camera doesnt seem to give a 5mp quality, my nokia phone had 1.3mp camera and it gave excellent pics, LG need to improve a little more on the camera side. Otherwise this phone is an excellent beauty.
I am thinking of getting the phone, what type of headphone port does it have?
I have and love this phone.
The only problem that I have come across so far is that I am unable to download the latest version of Mxit on the phone. Has anyone figured out how to do that as yet?
Except for that one little issue, I think this is an awesome phone and would recommend it to everyone.
i just buy this handphone and why can't i call any one, but i can sms and recieve phone call, when i call it say Aoc max limit. can anyone tell me what should do??
i want to know the battery life.it's a good
battery?iwant to buy the phone!!please help me!!!!!!!
Had my LG about a month now. The only gripe is that the battery will not last more tham 12 hours, thats with very light use, only sending 6 or so texts, rest of the time just on stand by. had to resort to buying a desk top charger and two spare batteries, so that one is in the phone, one spare with me and one being charged. COME ON LG THIS IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
bought the viewty a few months ago, and generally i love it, one or two things i've noticed which are annoying:
*I have to take my time writting a tx, and be careful which buttons i press, either that or i have fatter fingers then i would like to admit
*Once the battery starts to go and has two bars left, it goes really quickly, even when i'm trying to use as much,
*Not enough theme options, i've had sony ericssons for a while and like the number of themes and differences on the handsets, this one only has 3, and sadly 2 of them are a little boring. I've read some of the notes previously, and i'm just not that technical minded to go into it
So if anyone has some easier to understand websites with themes for the viewty, that would be ace
I just bought a NDS and i must say the viewty's screen is like 5 times better. Their both 3" so u really can make the comparison. The games on the viewty also look much better and the sound of the viewty is much louder, but the nds has mario bros hehehe so i still like it :)
hi im intrested to buy this phone but what about the sound?n does this phone supports playback during calls? i'll be grateful if u reply me on my e-mail
hi everyone... itz_me again... i got this phone and im totally satisfide with it...
im just wonderin'. does anyone know where to get wallpaper for this phone? i'v tryed zedge.com but they dont seem to have the correct size that fits the screen.. its not big enough. i would like to have a wallpaper that will cover the entire screen of my phone.. if i edit the wallpaper that i downlaoded at zedge, it goes pixelated. any sugesstions??
Great phone anyway... couldnt ask for more..
This is a great phone. I wonder is this device support *.AVI playback?
while i am here. what are the limitations of the built in browser. does any one know of an informative forums for this device?
does anyone know if the the viewty has an accelerometer to keep pictures at the right orientation. thanks for the info in advance. hopefully i don't get flamed
just bought my fianceé & myself 1 each... so far we're loving it. though its not meant to function so much as a smart/pda phone, as wifi is not available. nevertheless, i'd say its pretty impressive for starters.
surprisingly not lagging as compared to some other LG phones.
I just got this phone myself and love I it! Cant see a thing wrong, just took getting use to the button setup and where everything are. Nice on LG
The only comment I have to make is the battery life on the phone is very disappointing. Checked the battery life at lunch time (1pm) - it still had 2 bars, by 6.00pm, found the phone was dead. When I turned the phone back on, battery does not even have enough power to send an sms.
