confused1, 07 Jul 2009will it be hard for me to change from the nokia n79 to this lg viewty? will i have problems ad... moreYeah probably.
It is all touchscreen. It is ok, but really need to get used to it.
I personally think it sucks =p because for the digital qwerty you need the little stick which you get with it. but you cannot put it somewhere in your phone.
i never used it. also because it scratched my phone one time... =s
The phone is fine, but it is getting used to the touchscreen. I thought the feedback-vibration was great, (especially when it got slower).
Think about it.
really.
the battery is quite weak. it runs like maximum 2 days to charge again.
Positive thing is: i used my thumbnail to text, things like iPhone or iPod touch do not respond on nails, the viewty does =)
(and it is quite nescessary because you easily touch other 'buttons')
I hope i helped you
will it be hard for me to change from the nokia n79 to this lg viewty? will i have problems adapting to it?
VN, 01 Jul 2009How to hide pic/video while browse with "My stuff"? It show all file in phone! Thanks!files can never be hidden in viewty. your best bet is to install a file explorer app, create a subfolder on the default images folder, and save pictures or what-have-yous there using the same file explorer. the files will be saved on phone's memory, which is not that much.
to those who have this phone and are having problem with applications accessing the files on the phone, your bestfriend is bitpim. just download this program from bitpim.org, connect the phone through usb (making sure you have the usb driver for viewty as well, and that your usb setting on phone is on "data"). bitpim is for cdma phones, so ku990 will not be listed as one of those it supports; it can be detected by manually selecting vx9400. enable the program to read the file system, and after the files have loaded up, go to lg>media>apps (or java)>cert, and look for a file named policy.txt or one with an extension .pol. right click on the file and save the file on the computer's hdd. open the file saved on the hdd with notepad and edit the last block of entry to the following-- delete the lines that say "session (oneshot)", and change it to "allow". save the file and then go back to bitpim; right click on the policy file (policy.txt or ___.pol) and select overwrite. just select the file that you have edited on the computer and it should upload on the phone and overwrite the original one. disconnect the phone on bitpim, and then disconnect the phone from usb. restart your phone and reinstall the applications you want to have access to the phone's files (or network). proceed at your own risk. this should be pretty safe, just use common sense.

I've had my Viewty for a while. That's the only thing I can't complain about. The screen is quite resistant. Mine has been dropped, stepped on, my keys were just beside it in my bag, under a pile of books... It had a tough life. The screen still looks as good as new.
If you want to use it just as a phone, yes I recommend it. If you want to use it as a smartphone (synchronise it with your laptop or pc)or you want to set reminders on it then chose another one.
I was really dissapointed with some features of the phone and to find the solutions online extremely not user friendly.
