I'm still using my trustworthy Nexus4 (with 5.1.1). Got it when it came out and it still works fine, as a phone that is. Although I can still go on the internet, the experience has become a bit, shall we say unpleasant lol For very basic stuff, it still works tho.
Still the original battery and in standby it still holds a charge for like a week. If I call a lot, I can still use it for almost a full working day.
This has been an incredible phone.
This phone officially introduced the Medieval Jaunt ringtone and the Argon notification sound.
I love how this phone is upgradable to Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop)
This was my first smartphone back in 2013. Amazing to look back and see how far things have come. I kept it until 2018 when I shattered the glass back and cracked the screen by sitting on it... 😶🌫️
I think the thing I miss the most was the little RGB light at the bottom that would fade in and out when you had an unread notification. I suppose we've come full circle with the Nothing phone glyphs, but it doesn't feel quite the same. The early days of Android were so fun.

Anonymous, 27 Oct 2021no. no lteCan that actually be stated with certainty? My understanding is that a) it's currently up in the air when exactly they will shutdown 2G but it will be some time after 3G and b) there is a "Nexus 4 LTE Enabler" method posted on xda-developers.com. Between the two of those, it seems to me there are possibilities to keep a Nexus 4 viable after the T-Mo 3G shutdown. Someone please correct me (and provide further details) if that's wrong.

I know a retiree using a Nexus 4 with Tmobile prepaid. It might even be one of the really old plans with just voice/text and no data but I'm not certain. Either way, will it still work after the upcoming 3g shutdown? TIA

This was my first high end smartphone, truly awesome. Sad to see LG stop making smartphones.

I used this phone for about a year second hand before I started getting contracted handsets. It most certainly functioned well and still holds up today (Despite only running android 5 it can run PUBG Mobile and the newer Nintendo Mobile games) However there are issues, Even though mine was supposedly second hand I can guess by the condition it arrived in that it had been used once or twice then just left in storage for years and despite the small amount of usage, within weeks the battery life became subpar and within 11 Months it was abyssmal causing me to just leave it to gather dust (Since I couldn't sell it as functioning for it took literally a day to charge the battery to a state for the phone to just boot). Overall I can reccomend this but please, buy a replacement battery for it ASAP, It will save so much time and you won't need to put up with it's ancient battery. Other than the battery it is a fantastic phone with stunning features for it's time of release and a brilliant, vibrant screen.
