AnonD-83075, 28 Nov 2012How is the battery life in the Nexus 4?plz Help i m thinking to buy this phone . so plz helpBattery life is a decent 15-18 hours, with full load applications, installations, market, apps usage, 1 hour net browsing.
Have been on 3G network, been using Wifi extensively and the display is on 25% brightness.
However, havent listened to music yet, nor have I played any games.

Abhay, 30 Nov 2012Dear Reviewers,
I have been waiting for the review of Nexus4 since its launch. Everyday I l... moreIf you are ok with 16GB memory, you can blindly go and buy the phone. You cannot get better specs as well as performance for this price!
I too waited for the review, but eventually called it from US. Don't worry about the LG tag. Its a google phone, and I have been unable to find one glitch technically with the hardware..
compared to phones ive had like galaxy note and much others =
* the speed seems to be allways the same even when background is running
* 2gb ram allowed me to install windows xp and ubuntu to test with no lags
* battery goes faster than galaxy battery but suprisingly it charges in 30-45 miutes
* ive not found a native task killer
* ironically it allways say edge and never get to 3g evendo im using the same operator that ive been using on galaxy phone ive had
Well I probably have the first Nexus 4 8GB in India! I got this on 19th Nov, thanks to my friend in US.
Here's the first hand experience:
1. Unboxing : No earphones or wireless charger (ofcourse, how else does the $300 tag come in?) Nothing to blame as you would anyway use your best quality earphones.
. Appearance is textured glass at back and hard gorilla in front. Already comes with Screen guard, which can be used atleast for 2-3 months before it starts to peel off.
. Superfast booting, maybe within 10 sec.
. Touch sensitivity is comparable to the best - Had Dell streak 5 previously, and have tried Iphone 4s. The touch here seems better than both.
. Performance has been extremely fast - downloading apps, running them, uninstalling them - etc. The specs really are wonderful
. Although a few complain of storage, am sure 16 gb version would do great. However, the 8 GB version has only 5 GB usable memory. (I will have to do with this). Besides, you are getting such amazing specs that for this price, the memory stick has been compromised for. If you ask me, its a fair deal.
. No lagging whatsoever while using any app : I have used soundhound, wikipedia, google goggles, Chrome, Maps, skype, Teamviewer, ASTRO, dropbox and everything seems perfect. My dell streak was a celeron if I consider this as a quad core processor.
. Built in apps are pretty limited : Google apps mainly. Most others had to be downloaded. Hardly an issue, cuz the Play market is buzzing with activities!
. Widgets are nicely designed and serve the purpose perfectly. They can be accessed from the apps tray, on the main screens and ALSO on the LOCKED SCREEN!
. The unlocking screen feature has a brilliant face detection technology. You can ask the phone to learn you face and there, just in front of it, and it UNLOCKS! It works like a charm really... It asks you to make it learn in low lighting, with/without beard etc!
. The google now feature is excellent, though it would require a few iterations for it to be perfect.
. Speech to text during messaging, watsapp etc is brilliant! Leave a few indian words, it actually helped me type all words perfectly! Previous dell streak was a shame..
. Accessing settings is now though the notification bar. 2 fingers slide comes to settings. Single finger to notifications.
. Screen is so beautifully lit and bright, that it almost feels virtual!
. The power key is a bit on the upper side. Could have been better placed
. Micro-sim - AAh! Well its ok, comes with a sim ejection tool. Easy disey.
. Volume rocker on left. Dell had on right.
. No dedicated camera key. So self shooting is impossible as clicking has to happen on the blue dot at the bottom of the screen if held in portrait mode.
. Nice LED Flash. Very bright. You need to keep things a bit far...
. Autofocus on taps on screen. Clicking by the blue button. Quality is exceptionally good. Am sure not the very best available today, but really good.
. Photosphere did work well, mind a few glitches as we humans are not camera stands..
. Sound quality is decent. You will not miss a call even if the phone is inside a pouch, inside your jeans pocket.
. Android Jellybean experience is noteworthy. Classy apps placement, notifications, etc.
. Well, you cant make folders yet on the app tray (I could make this with Go launcher in Dell), but you can make the folders for the apps saved on the screen pages.
. GPS connectivity is instant! Even if you are inside the room, near to a window!
. Gallery experience is decent. For deleting an image, you can swipe your finger up along with pinch out.
. The battery is good.. Decent one day with full-time use, downloads, gallery use, camera with flash etc.
. Net browsing/App download is so fast that I cant imagine this in India! Well, it has to do with the 3G speed as well as the Wifi speed, but I did not used to get the same using my Dell.
. The overall phone experience - Excellent. For the price that they are offering, this is a killer.. you may as well but this and if not really comfortable, gift it in your family! But trust me! this rocks bigtime!!
Some stupid things I cant imagine why!! ::
. When connected to a PC, gives only 2 options - connect as media transfer device or connect as digital camera device..
. Tried a lot but couldn't connect this as a normal USB mode to transfer/store normal files.
. Had to rely on dropbox+Astro to transfer files such as Watsapp backup history, GoSMS messages backup etc.
. Facebook in-built widget sometimes does not respond to my touch. Maybe because I dont like FB anymore!
. The phone heats up a little at the back with some heavy activity. However, it is manageable given theres a quad core processor!
. Lots of fingerprints seen. But since it is glass both sides, cannot complain.
Anyone, if you have questions in regards to the use etc, please mail me directly on email@example.com
Will be happy to give you a first hand review.. I may even try stuff which will give some

Lovely phone.. its like a lovely girl but without boobs! because there is no memory card option
AnonD-83328, 29 Nov 2012can somebody help me choosing a smartphone?
samsung galaxy s2 or google nexus 4S2 or Nexus 4?
I would go for Nexus 4. The S2 is 1,5 years old.
AnonD-81209, 29 Nov 2012kindly note that you are not buying hard disk :) its just a phone with storage option :) moreo... moreI don't like the idea of carrying a separate MP3 player with me just because my phone can't store all my music collection. I don't know what they're thinking when they omitted the memory card slot. Even the cheapest Nokia Asha phones can take 32GB memory cards.
