deeboy, 26 Feb 2013Well said, but u re contradicting urself.
You said the f7 will excel better on downloads ... morelol !!i cant agree one of ur infos dat keylimepie needs atleast 2 gb ,earlier october keylime pie will be launch so at that moment we'll have only few phones with that requirements according to u !!
do u think android developers are so stupid to make one like that to stop their os selling,NO WAY it tkes bit mre ram bt nt mre thn 1 gb :)

i did notice something funny in my statistics last few charges tho.
it seems that my battery drains quick the first 60% i get maby 1.5 hours out of that but i still make 4 hours and 15 minutes out of the battery due to the remaining 40% lasting longer.
which makes me believe that the battery indicator isnt correct.

But do you think battery from f7 will fit in 4x?

deeboy, 26 Feb 2013"if the cpu spends more time
on higher mhz it will use just
as much on A 28nm dual
cor... moreno 28 NM clearly has benefits its most likely cooler and its generaly more energy efficient.
so idle its more efficient for sure as the phone isnt doing anything and idle 51 mhz on a 28 nm chip is more efficient then 51 mhz on a 40 nm chip.
it also is a fact that the lower the mhz the phone is rnning on the more energy efficient it is.
so a app needing 1000 mhz is more energy efficient the a app needing 1500 mhz.
keep this in mind for a second.
so i theory it can be possible that if you say need to start the facebook app on the F7 it takes (for example) 5 seconds @ 2x 1500 mhz.
thats 5 seconds at high mhz.
now for example take the 40 nm quad core of the 4x hd.
this same task can be done at 2.5 seconds @ 4x 1500 mhz which is using a lot of power because of the less efficient 40nm.
but you can also do the exact same task at 5 seconds @ 4x 750 mhz which in theroy makes it possible for the chip to use less power then the F7's 2x 1500 mhz as @750 mhz the chip is much more energy efficient.
ofzourse all these numbers are fictional as its just en axample to show how in theory the uad core even @ 40 nm could be more efficient.
if it actualy is we wont know for a while :)
big differences can be the android rom/kernel and the apps itself.
as they decide how the load is spread.
so does the quad core load the app just as fast @ the 4x 750mhz or does it load the app faster @ 4x 1500 mhz which is less efficient power wise then the 750mhz option.
another factor is how the app support the multiple cores.
so theres many fastors in what will be the more power efficient option and we dont always get to choose but in therory a lot is possible.
if you take this example with a quad core 40nm @1500 mhz vs a 32nm op 28nm quad core @1500 mhz thereis no doubr then both of them are more efficient in any situation.
hope this is more understandable for you :)
pino, 26 Feb 2013the fact that the F7 has 1 gig more ram will NOT meen it has more free ram.
in fact the onl... more"if the cpu spends more time
on higher mhz it will use just
as much on A 28nm dual
core then over the longer
time it takes then that a 40
nm quad core will do over a
shorter time (because its
done faster obviously).
ad for the dual core being
enough or not i think this is
more dependant on the gpu
then on the cpu part of the
soc". Pls can u
explain tha in a clear concise sentence cos i don't get it? or re u in any way tryin to deny the obvious benefits of 28nm chip over the 40nm?
you only spend 4hrs watchin videos, chattin on facebook befor ur battery is dead, but i think it is really slim as f7 already promises about 8hrs or thereabout of heavy usage. That too is twice de power u get off the 4x. I don't care about such rivalry betwen the two phones.
I'm not here for some fanboy brawl. I luv Lg and i wish them the best. But the 4x isn't just for me!
deeboy, 26 Feb 2013Well said, but u re contradicting urself.
You said the f7 will excel better on downloads ... morethe fact that the F7 has 1 gig more ram will NOT meen it has more free ram.
in fact the only 2gb device ive seen so far has 800 MB free ram out of 2 gb this is because just like windows android uses more ram when it gets more.
facts remain the heavyest 2.8 gb games only use 100 mb ram so 2g for the next 3 years is overkill for sure.
i dont expect 5.0 to be so much more resource heavy but i might be wrong but even if it takes 200 mb more then 4.0 its still verry capable on 1gb.
and like i said bigger battery does not meen better battery life.
if the cpu spends more time on higher mhz it will use just as much on A 28nm dual core then over the longer time it takes then that a 40 nm quad core will do over a shorter time (because its done faster obviously).
ad for the dual core being enough or not i think this is more dependant on the gpu then on the cpu part of the soc.
games are the heavyest thing on you can do on smartphones and good written apps need a good gpu over cpu.
if a game is slow because of the cpu its a bad app.
ofcourse only benches and testing can confirm this but in therory everything is possible.
and juni is Q2 and 4 months away :)
anyway all we can do is wait and see.
i think it will be a good phone just not as high end as the 4x as that would be shooting in your own foot.
the 4x is sellinh really well lately because of its price and lets be honest lg needs the higher end phone sales so make a name.
so ill surely be advicing the F7 to people if they need a phone on a lower budged and it doesnt have obvious flaws but its not and never will be a rival of the 4x.
Nasa, 26 Feb 2013I just got the phone day before yesterday.... and its simply amazing.... the only issue is the... moremy first 10 or so battery charges where horrible also but improved later.
the important thing is ti really load the battery and leave it on another hour then drain it to 2% (this is the point where it shuts off) before it shuts off charge it to full+ an hour again.
du this 4/5 times and you will see the use time increases a lot.
my first few charges where less then 3 hours now my average use time is 4 hours 15 minutes no calling just apps browsing some video and chatting.
which is quite good.
deeboy, 26 Feb 2013Well said, but u re contradicting urself. You said the f7 will excel better on downloads ... moreLol they said that ics can not be runed on 600 Mhz procesor and 500mb ran and i ran jelly bean on my old htc explorer.....soo I think the new. Os 5.0.0 will be fine even on phones with 1gb or less
pino, 26 Feb 2013that the optimus g is etter is no surprice but thats to see in the price.
what does surprise ... moreWell said, but u re contradicting urself.
You said the f7 will excel better on downloads cos of de 4g capability. . Yes, .that's a fact. (1point for f7) you also said u only ve 500mb ram free on ur 4x, which is incomparable slim with the massive 1.5gb free memory on de f7. does that make sense to u?
When android 5.0 keylimepie is launched and further successive updates re made to the Os, it's likely phones with below needed (2gb) ram would be incapable to run it?(2points)
Ram is more essential to me
than quad/octa...cpu, all re gimmicks! I howeva sketched this review based on specs i have on paper, But i'm fairly sure the f7 will not deviate a lot if it ever should.
The 4x soc is built on 40nm while the f7 has it at 28nm,
that's stil a huge gap (3pnts).
Moreover the f7 has beneath it a stronger battery than the flagship 4x.
hence what makes the 4x greater than f7? Really, is a name (((flagship)))
I trust Lg will keep to their words by releasing the F7 in Q2 this year and not in four months time as u claim.
Thank god i waited to see this without messin myself up with the 4x...
I just got the phone day before yesterday.... and its simply amazing.... the only issue is the battery life... rest is perfect....as what i was looking in a smartphone.
After I removed Facebook app my battery lasts so much longer
i have just bought this phone and its awesome!!!
ive read some comments regarding the touch response. for those who said that its not as smooth as e.g samsung etc, you are wrong man. or else you want to have a phone where an icon opens just before your finger touches it. the screen has a very good resolution and much more pros.
the cons is that the speaker volume while ringing isnt loud enough and the camera resolution is not as good as a sony/ sony ericsson phone.
any question??? you can ask me.
thanks
HI I.m purchased the 4xhd is very good then Samsung S3 4xhd video clearly is good
deeboy, 25 Feb 2013Well the 4x is just good, but when compared to the optG OR F7 it is slightly lacking. Battery ... morethat the optimus g is etter is no surprice but thats to see in the price.
what does surprise me however is you daring to say that the F7 is better while its release is atleast 4 months away and its a dual core rather then a quad core so its not even in the same league.
as for your HDR almost all phones have it the 4x hd had it also (and it actualy works quite nice).
and theres is nothing wrong with the tegra 3 they just should have made it on 28NM rather then 40NM so people stop crying about its heat and it would have bin slightly more energy efficient.
but even so the general battery preformance of the 4x hd with the tegra 3 is on par with almost all other quad cores.
the optimus g is barely faster had no replaceble battery and just doesnt justify they massive price.
and no the F7 does not have more potential its a dual core.
who gives a crap it has 2gb ram its way overkill i have 550 mb ram free on my 4x hd...
if you dont want a hot feeling phone dont buy a quad core phone and game with it they are NOT made for gaming just just have the option to do so.
e ferrari engine also gets hot enough to boil eggs on it if you race it on a cirquit but if you drive 120 on the highway it ont get hot at all.
and i can already tel you there is only 1 thing that the F7 will be better at then the 4x hd and that is downloading file as it has 4G support and the lg does not other then that it has no benefits over the 4x hd.
that doesnt make it a bad phone in fact i like it if they get the price right.
280 euro at release and a quick drop with 30 euros makes it a really interesting deal but anything more and your in the price of the 4x hd and your just stupid to buy the F7.
how long it lasts in real world use is yet to be seen it might be longer it might not be at all its impossible to tell right now bigger batterys dont mean a thing.
cores are most power efficient at low MHZ so a dual core is gonna spend more time on higher mhz for the same task consuming more power. on top of that 4g does drain more battery.
so lets wait 5 months till we have aosme solid reviews until then you cannot say the F7 is better it might have horrid flaws well never know.
