AnonD-36721, 05 Oct 2012Only a blind or an idiot will compare the LG Optimus G with Galaxy S3. The LG Optimus G is so ... moreWritten like a true fanboy. Foer me, who is not particular to Samsung or to LG, i see it like this,
Optimus G vs S3:
- 1. Optimus G has no card slot. -> Incomplete.
My phone in 2009 had 32GB internel PLUS a card slot. And even the older Nokia N97 had 23GB plus a card slot. And now, almost 2013 on the calendar, when HD videos are already old news on phones, we get only 32GB and no card slot?
In 2009 we didnt even have 720p videos but we had more storage.
I was exited about G before i found out about the card slot, now its just a incomplete and uninteresting phone that could not serve my needs at all.
LGOG competes with HTC One X+, not with SGS3
AnonD-36721, 05 Oct 2012Only a blind or an idiot will compare the LG Optimus G with Galaxy S3. The LG Optimus G is so ... moreu r right!!....there are so many phones on market which are far better than crap s3......but dont know y people run before that crap!!
TheDude, 04 Oct 2012So no SD card slot, no Bluetooth LowEnergy support, no GLONASS support, same battery as Galaxy... moreOnly a blind or an idiot will compare the LG Optimus G with Galaxy S3. The LG Optimus G is so far ahead of the GS3. i.e. the advanced display: Zerogap Touch and True HD IPSPLUS Display from LG Display harmonise to offer the slimmest, sharpest and clearest viewing experience yet. The new battery from LG Chem which is a 2100mAh battery has a longer life of 800 cycles, a significant improvement over existing mobile phone batteries.
LG Display’s True HD IPS+ Display is sharper than today’s AMOLED displays due to its high pixel density of 320ppi (1280 x 768 pixels) and Stripe RGB IPS Panel. This new display is capable of generating 470nits of brightness while consuming 70 percent less power compared to others when displaying a white background. Furthermore, True HD IPS+ Display does not suffer from screen burn-in as AMOLED displays have been known to do.
Similarly, there are several other features in the LG smartphone which are superior to the GS3 and other smartphones.
TheDude, 04 Oct 2012So no SD card slot, no Bluetooth LowEnergy support, no GLONASS support, same battery as Galaxy... moreDon't judge processing power by frequency (MHz)
This CPU is approximately twice as powerful as that of a S3
The GPU is a bit more powerful too
TheDude, 04 Oct 2012So no SD card slot, no Bluetooth LowEnergy support, no GLONASS support, same battery as Galaxy... moredude!....this phone is far better than s3....as it is powered by 2gb of ram where as s3 has only 1gb and this phone is powered by qualcom where is samsung s3 is of cheap exynos!.....it has a camera loaded with 12 mp!!!
after i have realized that this phone have no card slot, all my enthusiasm's gone..while in the first place,i hope i would see 64gb internal memory plus 64gb expandable card slot..but only 32gb fixed!c'mon lg,if you are going to claim 'no limit'with this phone, you should reconsider what you have done!
bro don't compare the mhz of samasung galaxy s3 and of LG optimus G.
Just check out the benchmark results of these two phones.
You will get the answer, why people buy LG optimus G instead of Samsung Galaxy S3.
nice design and good specs. however no sd card. no removable bat. sorry still didn’t pass my taste.won’t buy it.
Phoneaddict, 04 Oct 2012Hello everybody. This phone could be the best of all maybe, but Lg has failed.I just unable to u... moreYes... go ahead and buy Note II 64gb, pump it up with 64gb sd card, get 128gb worth of memory, and use only 20gb of them.
When will this phone is available and how much is expected to be its price
AnonD-71868, 04 Oct 2012You can't be serious...if you compare this phone with Samsung Galaxy's Note II it's like compa... moreLets compare the card slot.
I was very exited about the G, but no card slot means its not an option. LG was one of the last manufacturers i expected would do that, now even Sony is consequently using card slots on ALL their Xperia phones, they learned their lession alreay, and the lession was that people dont buy phones without a card slot, even if the phone has 32GB internal storage like the Xperia S. Same goes for the Optimus G, theres NO REASON AT ALL to NOT have a card slot. So where is the card slot???
Dont compare to Samsung coz Samsung make complete phones that people actually want to buy.
Phoneaddict, 04 Oct 2012Hello everybody. This phone could be the best of all maybe, but Lg has failed.I just unable to u... moreYou can't be serious...if you compare this phone with Samsung Galaxy's Note II it's like comparing a car with a bicycle. In the first place, you don't need your screen to be that big as on Note, 4.7" is too big already. The camera on Note is 8 MP, LG's camera is 13 MP. Note's hardware is kinda old, the LG is packed with the latest Snapdragon Krait chipset, which is the best on the market right now, until Nvidia will launch Tegra 4 next year in January or February.
So stop comparing LG with Samsung.
Hello everybody. This phone could be the best of all maybe, but Lg has failed.I just unable to understand, why cant I use an SD-card to expand the memory?!?Who had this idea at Lg,that 32 Gb internal memory is enough for a superphone like this one?!?How do they think, that they can compete against Samsung, for example?!?If I buy an Sgs3,or a Galaxy Note 2,I can have 128 Gb memory in any of them.I was planning to buy this phone, but I wont, cause I will buy the Note 2,which is the same high-end phone like this, but I ll get 128 Gb memory, not 32 Gb,for the same prize.Congratulations for LG,because of this non-expandable memory, for their flagship phone!
The biggest disappointment would be no microSD slot, radio TBD and worst build in battery. which i personally feel that LG should take that into consideration. 32G is not enuff to support HD 1080 video recording..
So no SD card slot, no Bluetooth LowEnergy support, no GLONASS support, same battery as Galaxy S3. Why would anyone buy this phone over the Galaxy S3? For an extra 100Mhz of processing power?
I am done with LG phones. They are quick at releasing new hardware but dont update The OS regularly. first to have dual core phone (P990) and it still runs Gingerbread 2.3.4, no official update yet on ICS ( never mind JB ).
It will be nice if LG took care of its existing customers. Already switched to Samsung who know about customer service and how to keep a customer base.
