Anonym, 22 Oct 2014It's still an amazing phone but it's one that's increasingly harder to find in stores. This... moreThe vendor is too fast release new phone, so old phone is abandoned. I read Sony ia very fast, the Xperia Z3 is still in preorder, they are making Z4.
It's still an amazing phone but it's one that's increasingly harder to find in stores.
This is bad news for us, as manufacturers usually only make updates for phones which are still being sold in large quantities somewhere in the globe (they do it to make that old stock look more appealing to the costumer and thus generate revenue by selling those units). Samsung is notorious for this, they did it with most of their flagship S line.
Once the phone is no longer being sold then the manufacturer drops it, as it no longer makes more money from that (it's actually an added cost).
Nevertheless fear not! Because our phone is so much alike the Nexus 4, we will likely be privileged with 3rd-party ROMs (like CM) which will take advantage of Google's hard work in bringing Lollipop to the Nexus 4 and thus make a very stable and usable ROM for our devices.
NikiDroid, 21 Oct 2014:-) We should said whether it iwll get it or not.yeah, this phone still packs some fine specs(still better than any Mid-tier phones today), and it has an ample internal storage so i really won't understand why would LG not update this phone.
prabath, 20 Oct 2014just released android 5.0 lolipop for this phone :-)
We should said whether it iwll get it or not.

lucky , 03 Oct 2014hi guys, i have optimus g running on 4.4.2 i tried alot to root it but did not succeed . Anyon... moreDear sir
You can try towel root. Just Google it.
I rooted my lg e975 running kit later with the above.
KitKat 4.4.2 (v20a), fix many problems, camera problem is no more again, speed in texting is the same, but I notice that there is a bug if user finish playing game in ePSXe when exit from that application. Afer exit from ePSXe, the LG Optimus G that I experienced will open random application (for example Chrome, Browser, Memo, etc) even if I check on task manager or tap and hold home button to launch running apps, no running apps.
