Roy, 10 Jul 2011Actually what made me enquire about these classes is that, somewhere in the earlier posts it i... morei use the default 2Gb card that was shipped with LG . it says "MICRO SD SD-C02G" and so far i have faced no problems.
google says That it is a Kingston CLASS 2 GB memory card
http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/Memory_Speed_Tests search for string = SD-C02G
about the mounting proble i think the reason may not be the Class of card but the Brand quality of the card. another reason for unmounting problems can be imporper use. LG manual says that you need to unmount the CARD from settings > card setting > unmount before doing so .
in case you feel a lag in speed then that is probably due to other factors like processor etc rather than the CLASS of Phone memory card.
Hope that helps
Patliputra, 10 Jul 2011Punk what makes you claim that class 4 and class 6 card may not work flawlessly in OP1 ??
... moreActually what made me enquire about these classes is that, somewhere in the earlier posts it is mentioned that class 2 and class 4 sd cards showed some unmounting problems and there was a survey conducted and the conclusion was that, those who were using class 6 and class 10 never faced such problems.
So Patliputra, which class sd card are you using????

i wrote it as your illogical advice "Better use Class 8" = prefering higher class could be NEEDLESSLY EXPENSIVE for the users. i dont think it is wise to advise others if you dont know or have much idea about it. On a lighter note remember
[: Engineers are supposed to bring down the expenses not increase it ] :) regards

r.punk, 10 Jul 2011better use a class 8 memory card as class 10 is for higher megapixel droids and 1080p recorder... morePunk what makes you claim that class 4 and class 6 card may not work flawlessly in OP1 ??
ASFAIK class 4 cards (that has default min read write speed of 32Mb per sec) is more than enough for use in the Cell phones. In case you disagree please tell me an application that uses greater than 32Mbps in Cell phone. (i have a HD cam that needs 14Mb/s for full HD (1080p) video recording). There's no reason to claim that class 4 is not good enough for use in OP1.
Using class 6 or class 10 is a waste of money as the only improvement is you will save few seconds when you transfer HUGE files from PC to cell phone frequently (which is highly unlikeley). you can rather look for STORAGE CAPACITY than going for CLASS. (Roy go for Class 4 at the max if it is not expensive)
Anonymous is right Class 8 Cards dont even EXIST in the Market. u can get 8GB class 2 for 500Rs and 16 GB for 1100.
