I'm surprised that in the G5 vs V20 discussion nobody mentioned that the V20's big advantage is that it has removable back cover, while G5 has non-removable back cover.
The removable back cover is necessary for the bigger extended battery. This is the reason why you can't find extended battery for G5 despite it has removable battery.
Five months with V20
I have been using H990DS for 5 months now and I'll share my thoughts, someone might find them useful. So the phone still works perfectly, like when it was brand new. I am a user that doesn't play games (some Solitaire and Frozen Bubbles cannot count) but I spend a lot of time on the Net, I continuously synchronise 4 email accounts, read and write emails, I read books, listen to the music, watch movies and use camera. I use messengers, Viber and WhatsApp. I occasionally use phone for navigation - driving or walking and control some of my home appliances. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and mobile data are always on. The only problem I had was in the beginning, the phone restarted twice, randomly. I reformatted my SD Card, (which was for years moving from phone to phone) and no more problems afterwards. No screen problems, no lagging.
I don't know whether the stories about screen retention and burn in, lagging and other problems are real or fictional, but I believe that every user should follow these simple rules: 1. Don't let your phone overheat (like you don't drive your car "pedal to the metal" all the time), 2. Don't use maximum screen brightness if you really don't have to - automatic brightness works well. 3. Put your second screen to sleep whenever you don't need it e.g. overnight.
So far very happy with the device and I did not find the feature that I need, that was not already implemented in this phone. If anything happens, which proves that I am wrong, I'll post it.

OZstar, 06 Jan 2018Thanks every one for sharing their valuable feedback, It was bit hard for me to choose LG V20 ... moreWelcome to the V20 club. The first thing I'd do if I were you is to customize it for maximum enjoyment and do speed and fluidity tweaks in the settings portion and advanced developer options. Check my suggestions in the previous page on how to make the V20 smoother than the default factory settings and much faster and even more responsive than default factory settings.

Just battery is downsize which i believe due to 3200 mAH size for this big set, but quick charge function is very good, many more features i didn't discover so far, I will highly recommend this LG mobile set with very reasonable price of $450 mark as compare to other options in market.
I bought a new V20 at Christmas for $299 on B&H. I wanted the Square Trade warranty $67 for 2 year with Hazzard....so I paid a little more for the phone. There were plenty of new Legit ones for $289 on ebay and Amazon as well....though their ST warranty was more.
Good phone though I am,not impressed when i couldn't find where to set my equalisers,,I mean I like setting my own.

Obviously the v20 is superior to the G5 but one needs to factor in you can get a G5 for $100 less than a v20. So for someone on a tight budget might still be draen to the G5. The features on the v20 are more, but performance wise they are the same.
Anonymous, 05 Jan 2018Ebay has lots of sellers. You should be able to find one which sells unlocked units. Also, there are no fake V20's sold on ebay. Maybe used ones sold off as brand new. Let the overall seller ratings, the large quantity of 5 star seller (not buyer) feedback, year the seller became an ebay member and the seller's sheer number of other products sold in his/her ebay store and the return/refund policy guide you where you should purchase your V20. The price should be around USD $300-350 for a brand new product, though some sellers sell slightly lower or higher than this range.

If anyone has found an online store that sells the V20 at a reasonable price, please let me know (a V20 that you bought and are happy with). Cell2get has models US996 or VS995 for a little over $320.00, but it seems like a lot of these online sellers are storefronts for China. Not sure if itÂ’s better to buy the 996 or 995. My carrier is Verizon. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks.

Anyone can recommend it? Or it has problems like V10 i.e the bootloop and the poor connectivity
Anonymous, 27 Dec 2017If you are into photography, the V20 is actually one of the best if not the best camera phones... moreBest Buy is now sold out of the Verizon unlocked model. Can anyone recommend another reputable place to buy one? Verizon Wireless has them overpriced and Ebay seems to have a lot of complaints that models offered there are knock-offs. I only saw used models for sale on Amazon. Thanks for your help.

Better build in terms of the form factor.
Runs a slight bit smoother in terms of loading apps thats ofcourse due to the software optimizations but i personally think ram management is a slight bit faster on the g5. But all round the v20 is the kind supreme between the 2..

Anonymous, 03 Jan 2018I'm referring to battery life as in what you can get from one charge without using extra batte... moreYes agreed. There's even zerolemon 4000mAh for the newest iPhone X. But it's not quite the same as true battery replacement in phones with removable batteries. The difference will be noticeable once the sealed battery degrades. It's like using a spent/worn-out battery (phone's built in battery) in series with a good battery (zerolemon).
