Savor , 02 Aug 2017G6 lacks removable battery and IR blaster. I use IR blaster anytime I visit my parent's house ... moreDo you think g5 is better all around device for ppl who isnt much into camera stuff ?? In all other terms its pretty nuch the same as v20. V20 is little bit oversized imo
Savor , 02 Aug 2017G6 lacks removable battery and IR blaster. I use IR blaster anytime I visit my parent's house ... moreThank you. IR blaster is a great feature on a smartphone. Incredibly useful, for many tasks including lost or broken remotes!
Savor , 02 Aug 2017G6 lacks removable battery and IR blaster. I use IR blaster anytime I visit my parent's house ... moreI totally agree pointing the V20's IR blaster and removable battery as two essential points in this great multipurpose phone.
Mike Tan, 01 Aug 2017Get the G6. It's a good phone. G6 lacks removable battery and IR blaster. I use IR blaster anytime I visit my parent's house or to turn off my TV in my room. It is an everyday thing for me to use the IR blaster.
My G5 and V20 are actually my two favorite phones along with the Pixel in between them. But my G5 is Sprint which was unlocked but can't recognize anymore sim anymore. Sprint is the least compatible with other networks, so it became my media player device next to the V20 with the 128gb microSD inside.
With T-Mobile ONE unlimited
Samsung S7 edge (T-Mobile, Wi-Fi hotspot, ATM card)
Google Pixel (Verizon, main voice/text phone)
Motorola Moto E (navigation)
Without T-Mobile
Google Pixel (Verizon)
S7 edge or G5 or V20 (media player, browser)
Motorola Moto E (navigation)
Travel Devices
Google Pixel (phone)
LG V20 (camera, better headphone jack position for music)
Sony PS Vita
I will just use the S7 edge until it craps out on me. It lags anyway, so it is good to browse porn on it. I also hate having my Dasher app on my LG phones as it will kill battery in the background. Or say if it gets stolen, my V20 and iPhone SE will be decent backups to my Pixel. The G5 is the media player and cameraphone backup to the V20 in case that gets stolen or breaks.
Need to rotate between 3-4 phones everyday. Need depth. Doing Postmates, Uber, Lyft or whatever will kill any phone's battery with data and location services on all day. I tried using ONE phone to do some Postmates all day, and it dies within half a day. V20 is the best all-around device I have though. Swap of a battery can make it and the G5 last forever. G6 doesn't offer that.
AnonD-688303, 30 Jul 2017I mainly would use it for calling, texting, gaming and Web browsing. I don't really use a phon... moreI own both and G5 is my favorite phone to use because I prefer the smaller footprint and for some reason the UI just feels slicker than on my V20. Like close to Pixel smoothness. Doesn't really stutter. Maybe because it is on Marshmallow, I don't know. My V20 will slightly stutter and overheat from time to time. I also prefer the design of the G5 a little more because the camera hump doesn't protrude as much and feels more rounded.
The V20 is the BETTER phone though. The camera is better especially in video recording. My G5 also has ghosting issues. My V20 still doesn't show it to me. I like where the V20's headphone jack is placed while the G5 is on top. I don't have a headphones that support Quad DAC but they sound about the same with regular ones. The V20 definitely has lower speaker volume but better battery life (15-20% better) including standby thanks to Nougat's improved Doze.
V20 is the best. G5 is my personal favorite. For your usage, get the V20. G5 won't even let me adjust the MP to a lower resolution unless I use Open Camera app but it prevents me from using the wide-angle and suffers in quality if you do lower it. V20's camera app is much more superior. My Sprint G5 does have FM radio but I needed to download an FM app online and can't play through the external speaker. My T-Mo V20 can.
I just love the G5 because I got it first and I sold two other ones for a profit. But if I went traveling, I would bring my Verizon Pixel (unlocked) and T-Mo V20 (unlocked) on trips. I plan to cut off my T-Mo line and Pixel will be the only phone I can use. The other phones would be relegated as media players/cameraphones since they won't work on Verizon. The V20 will be relegated as the travel phone.

AnonD-688303, 30 Jul 2017I mainly would use it for calling, texting, gaming and Web browsing. I don't really use a phon... moreThe v20 is primarily a multimedia phone with it's superior camera, video and audio recording. If all you want to do is text, game, and web browse then there are other more suitable phones for this as the v20's battery life is average at the best. The secondary display and on screen software buttons will also cut into the gaming experience as it can become annoying to always have to swipe down to get access to them.
AnonD-688303, 30 Jul 2017I mainly would use it for calling, texting, gaming and Web browsing. I don't really use a phon... morePick the multipurpose V20 and instead their usual battery keep in the 10.000 mAh. ZEROLEMON battery. Your search are finished.
Rimac , 30 Jul 2017Anyone phone can be your preferred if their features are well matched to your needs. I mainly would use it for calling, texting, gaming and Web browsing. I don't really use a phone for much more than that. I was also thinking that getting the V20 would be better when it comes to battery length. I need a battery that would last all day and with the 2800mAh that's in the G5 I'm not sure that it would last all day.
