Go ahead with your first option and of course very clear for you (and for me). The V20s hasn't been bootloop reported and the protrude and consequently weak rear glass camera has a simple thing to resolve and also good to the whole phone : a suitable case.
I really live this phone. It's the best phone I can find right now especially with full manual video recording, HD audio recording, quad DAC, removable battery and ture dual sim with dedicated micro SD slot. Basically the perfect phone of my dream to date.
The thing is I'm going to South Korea in 3 months time and planning to pick up the LG V20 while willing to void the warranty but I'm afraid of bootloop or cracking the rear camera glass since it's quite weak as tested by JerryRig on YouTube since it's not a very cheap phone.
My question is should I be worry about any of those things happening? Or should I go with Samsung Galaxy S8+ since I can get this in my hometown. Can anyone drop me any suggestion? I can't make up my mind now. Thank you!

Would go with the V20. Just make sure on purchase main screen doesnt bleed.

Rimac , 23 May 2017Both are very good phones. Personally I prefer the LG V20 because has IR blaster, FM radio and... moreDitto.
IR blaster is surprisingly very useful for me to control the volume when I visit my parents' house to dogsit. They have three remotes for the TV. I just have my G5 and V20 to use when I want to turn it off or control volume.
I rotate between several phones when I do some DoorDash. Just for today, I decided to put my T-Mobile sim on my HTC One M7. Had it on my S7 edge yesterday. The One M7 is just way too laggy and the speaker is very soft for some reason. It also charges very slowly while loses battery twice as fast.
So instead of putting my sim back on the S7 edge, I decided to put it back with my trusty V20. The size can be kinda overwhelming because I can't attach it to my belt because it is too wide. But I love LG.
Tomorrow's DoorDash, the usual suspects
Left hip holster case - LG G5 (sim-less) but for my games. Really enjoying the Ninja Arashi game. So relaxing.
Right hip holster case - Google Pixel (Verizon) # linked to my DoorDash.
Glove compartment and occasionally in my pocket - LG V20 (T-Mobile). It also acts as the hotspot since my Verizon is limited to 5gb while T-Mo is the One plan.
But among all the gadgets I have bought during the last four months, it is a second hand PS Vita slim with a $130 64gb card and 34 downloaded games that is getting the most usage from me. I bring 3-4 gadgets to never get bored or run out of battery.
V20 is a great phone. My 3rd favorite phone ever and maybe 2nd once my Pixel battery degrades. A little too bulky but I love typing on it with two thumbs. Try one thumb with an iPhone SE. Typos galore.

Imaniman, 23 May 2017Search for v20 secret codes to open the hidden menus. From there u can change the network to 4... moreIt's hopeless. LG, like Samsung and Huawei (except the Nexus models) have locked the hidden Android menu where you can change data connection options. I need to force 'LTE only' on sim1 for maximum download data speeds. I'm in an area where the phone tends to switch to 3G 90% of the time despite having an LTE signal. (I do my calling and texting on sim2). *#*#4636#*#* works on any Sony, Lenovo, Asus, Xiaomi, Oppo, Nexus and Pixel phones. Not so on Samsung, Huawei and LG. I'll have to avoid these 3 brands in the future because of this restriction. Not being able to force 'LTE only' is making my download speeds miserable.
