Sealing batteries with la... moreIt's hilarious you throw down the G6, a phone which has been more successful than the V20 in LG's eyes. Again, it's about battery life more than anything, something you seem to be avoiding. You think the fact that you can swap batteries is a valid excuse for below average battery life because you can just swap batteries and be back at 100% in less than a minute, but what you don't understand is most consumers don't want to swap batteries, they want something that will get them through the day no problem. The way the manufacturers see it, they think consumers would rather have a phone with a sealed battery that can give 6+ hours of SOT more than a phone with a removable battery that only gives around 4 hours of SOT. I'm in this boat, I want the maximum battery life off a single charge without having to carry around power banks OR extra batteries.
Yes, now you will tell me your V20 easily gets over 4 hours of SOT but what you won't tell me is that you have to turn off bluetooth, wifi, GPS, sync, put the phone in power saving mode, lower the screen brightness to less than 50% and most definitely not use the camera. No thanks.
As for supporting dropping support, I don't support this but you have to do the math and think if I was making a phone and invested millions and millions in R&D under the plan that it was going to sell it for $800 when in fact most sold for around $400, now how would I go about maintaining profitability or loss minimization on this particular project? I would take all but one or two software engineers and get them working on next years phones software and relocate the remaining one or two software engineers to the basement to work on updates for my low-performing phone. It's business, they've already made all these v20's, they can't "unmake" them and get the money back, the only place left to save money or minimize further losses is to not waste more resources on it, and that would be support. Just look at the failed LG G Flex 2 stuck on Marshmallow despite being a 2015 flagship, it's support cycle only lasted about 18 months before LG abandoned it and it was mostly due to the fact they ended up being sold for substantially less than MSRP.

And why are you cheering for anti consumer acts like dropping support? Do you have vested interests with these phone makers?

Sealing batteries with large amounts of glue like the G6 is a surefire way of making people change their phones often with repairs having chances of breaking other parts and sometimes removing water resistance.
Also another way to milk money bec people pay the manufacturer to do something used to be done for free with your fingers.
No need for major updates. Even security patches will do like what Sammy is doing with older notes.
Dave, 14 Oct 2017Will this phone get oreo update?Although is unofficial, likely as other models, beginning the new year.
Tom, 13 Oct 2017Does your phone support VoLTE in India? If yes, whats the software version u have got?Yes LG V20 support VoLTE in India , software version is V10j-IND-XX
Better late than Never! Updates to Sept, that's all can say, took whole night to see any improvement, OK might be. But look at V30 disappeared from market, since launch two months ago, maybe they never expected, it's demad, made order late, maybe by Christmas supply better!

Azam, 11 Oct 2017What is second screen ??Second screen is not really a second screen actually. It is simply entire screen programmed to work as two different sections independently. But I assume this is not what you are asking for.
Second screen, in my opinion, is a very useful feature, that allows you to put your 5 most favorite, most used apps always in one place that you can easily have access to without going in to apps list. It also allows you to access quick settings like Turn on and off wifi, bluetooth, volume, camera, flashlight and LG's capture mode, without swiping down to the toggles.
Other things to show up there are most recent 5 apps, upcoming events, music player and your customized signature, whatever you want to write.
you can turn on and off of any of these options, and you can also, turn the second screen on and off, or choose to have it on and off when main screen is on and off.
Also you can see your notifications as messages and calls.
Lets say you are talking to someone on the phone, and you need to check something on Google or calendar etc, your call automatically goes to second screen.
If you have a wallet case with second screen window, it is really fun to use this phone.
