Mr Grey, 03 May 2017Thanks for the info Savor as I have seen your posts and you always give lots of useful informa... moreYeah, no problem.
I was using it more today to do my DoorDash. I think V20 is like a G5 Plus or G5 XL. If you love the G5, you will love this one if you like the bigger display.
It isn't as bright as I thought it would be. I still need to adjust it to 70-75% to see anything during the day while indoors. About as bright as the G5. Another thing is the G5 has the louder external speaker. Maybe 20-25% louder. I noticed it during the Google Maps voice navigation. Open your window or have the radio on and you may not hear it so well.
Battery life is a tad better than G5 though. Maybe like 10% longer. Everything is pretty buttery smooth. It is on Nougat 7.0 while I left my G5 with 6.0.1. Need to test the selfie camera. Read the G5 is superior to it. I really like putting a signature on that second display. Feels so personalized for me.
Overall, I would put it behind my G5 and Pixel among favs but very close to both. I just am biased towards the G5 because I got it first and prefer the size. I got the smaller Pixel after and it is the smoothest Android experience I ever had. But I can see the V20 surpass my Pixel over time thanks to the removable battery, micro-SD slot, IR blaster, and FM radio.
Great phone. You won't be disappointed and you will probably enjoy it far more than a Galaxy S7 edge or S8+ thanks to the flat screen, wide lens, smoother skin, metal rear that's easy to remove, etc. Edge phones are overrated af. LG flagships from last year are still practical af for the long term.
Barring any bootloops, I can see myself using a G5 and V20 for a very, very long time well into the mid-2020's. No degraded, sealed battery that bulges to worry about.

Obviously I am importing it if I get one so I won't have a UK lg warranty but Wonda themselves have a 1 year warranty on the products they sell anyways and so far I can't really find any other phone that has what I want besides the v20.
The v20 just might be the phone I will soon get to replace my G5.
Mr Grey, 03 May 2017Can you post how you get on with the v20 as I am very interested in maybe importing one into t... moreI only have been using it for maybe 4 hrs tops but once the initial setup is done, everything is pretty smooth. I think my silver G5 is a tad more sensitive to touch but the V20 is way better than my titanium silver S7 edge for texting. I just barely got my essential apps recently via Bluetooth transfer from the G5.
I tested the cameras real quick and the V20 seems to have punchier colors. Maybe a tad oversaturated display or maybe because my G5 screen is too dim and colder. Battery seems to be better on the V20 as well although the G5 is quite underrated for real usage especially with streaming videos.
I think if you miss the big screen, then V20 is the perfect choice since if you love your G5, V20 is a bigger screen version of it. Screen is also noticeably brighter. Needed the G5 to be at 70% to see anything during the day. I really like that second display on top. It says my name with LG V20 in Roboto font and the Philippine flag.
If you know someone in the USA, try to get the T-Mobile variant as they only sell it for $480. Typing on mine so far and pretty great so far! I would put it only behind G5 and Pixel because the phone is quite tall. G5 and Pixel are just more comfortable to hold. But if that is your thing, it could be #1 for you. Definitely better media consumption and typing experience with the V20.
Love LG. They will continue to get my money if they offer removable battery. No interest in G6 because it lacks it.

I just got a T-Mobile LG V20 for $538 total. I got a rebate card through the mail and was supposed to pay off the entire balance for my S7 edge but ended up getting the V20 instead. All the Android phones I wanted last year, I have now.
I will see how this goes. I just can't stand the glass rear, curved display, and laggy Samsung software. I wanted to get a Sony Xperia XZ to replace my S7 edge but the V20's $480+ price tag was too tempting. Now I have both 2016 LG flagships.
I read from rumors that V30 will go sealed battery for waterproofing. I guess G5 and V20 will be the last of their kind to offer removable battery from LG.
Galaxy S5 = G5
Note 4 = V20
The last from both Samsung and LG flagships to offer the most important feature for longevity.
The irony as I type this comment and hear "Fly Like A G6" inside a restaurant. It's an LG (Life's Good) kinda day today for me
Mr Grey, 02 May 2017How common is the boot loop problem with this phone,is it a common thing or is it exaggerated,? Very exaggerated. The G4 is the only LG device that suffered from the issue to an extent above normal defect amounts.

All android phones have google voice, which can do many basic commands, like read messages, play music, call someone, etc. I don't think it can power up the device, as when the device is off, the mic is normally off as well.

Hi guys. Someone can tell me if the 32 bit / 192 KHz QUAD DAC upsampling remain with Bluetooth connection. Thanks a lot.
Is there anyway to make the text delivery report stay permanently until you dismiss it rather than disappearing after a few seconds automatically?
AnonD-603535, 30 Apr 2017I own a V20 now, after my g4 getting bootlooped.
What can you say about the 'Image retenti... moreAll screen types are susceptible to image retention or image persistence if a static image is left on screen for too long, yes LED are less so, however, they still are. Luckily with LCD or LED the effect is temporary, and will fade over time as long as the static image isn't up again for more than 2 hours. As for this being unfit for flagship quality...well, all of them have the potential no matter the brand.
Bootloop and image retention are drastically different issues, and seeing retention should not in any way lead someone to claiming bootloop, that is ridiculous.

I can't use the phone for more than 10 mins because I start to see the status bar and the navigation bar. It shouldn't be like that in only 6 months of use...
Finally bought the V20 today after reading tonnes of reviews and comparisons. Besides the pros & cons, nothing beats a phone with multi SIM, memory card slot and removable battery!

What can you say about the 'Image retention'?
All of my friends' g4, v10, g5 has this issue to some extent upon full screen test on grey background (most visible).
Maybe the Bootloop stigma is tied to them seeing that heck of an "Image retention" issue.
Not acceptable in any way for a flagship device.
Low Profile launch and very good feed back, now updates are 6 months old, and no sign of comming anytime. Prices free fall, not good for company, no specs or pics leaked of V30, hardly quarter left. LG people read it and react.
