The battery has degraded but since it has 4100mAh sealed battery to start with, it still makes it through the day on a single charge (it could go two days when it was new). That's why my advice has been, if anybody buys phones with sealed batteries and want their batteries to still last a day of use even 4 years after, 4000mAh and higher capabilities are the next best option to removable batteries. From my experience with my lenovo P770, complete battery failure (swelling/bloating) can also happen on the fourth year. It's not worth it to buy an expensive flagship phone with sealed battery that do not have at least 4000mAh. If you want to protect your investment, go with removable batteries or sealed batteries with 4000mAh and up capacity. Anything less is only ok if you replace phones yearly anyway.

I get 6hrs 40 min SOT with those settings in my V20. I have a hyperion battery case so no problem really with only 6hrs 40 min SOT on the regular 3200mAh battery. I get double that with extended battery cases.
my phone's version is h990ds .
pros & cons :
-lcd sometimes have a shaddow and gost you can search
-battery life is not good by moderate usage .(google apps and android is related to this issue)
-front camera in comparison with G5 has lower quality.
-hands-free quality is poor .
-very cheap material for usb type c port .
-no wireless charging feature.
-about 3 gig of ram is involved for basic core packages.
-no update for new android version up to this time and remains on 7.0
but advantages :
- Fast battery charging (full charging in 125 mins)
-slim design and very strong body .
- 3.5mm audio jack
-cost affordable in comparison with Samsung s8
-high specifications vs phone's cost

Specialy to those who, due to their jobs, are many times on the road, the case with built in battery NEWDERY, i consider that is "the must".

This is one of the most underpowered and low battery life... moreBuy extended V20 batteries or the official BCK 5200 charging kit with spare battery. It will solve your battery problems. For the lags:
Solution 1: Go to settings -> general -> apps -> configure apps (three dots at the upper right) -> special access.
Ignore optimizations - turn ON for All apps (default is off)
From the same 'special access' menu,
Draw over other apps - turn OFF for ALL apps. (except messaging)
Other stutter/lag busting remedies:
Enable developer options if not enabled already.
1. Turn ON 'force gpu rendering'
2. Set window animation scale, transition animation scale and animator duration scale to 0.5 for all three.
3. Restart phone.
Download Nova Launcher
Go to nova settings -> look and feel
Set both 'scroll speed' and 'animation speed' to 'fast'.
That's it. Let me know how all these adjustments go on your V20.
I'm not regret to buy this phone. display, camera and build quality are wonderful
however I'm sad because:
No update to 7.1
No update to 8 at least in next months (or maybe never)
Battery life is awful
I used the phone coming to 2 years.
This is one of the most underpowered and low battery life andriod phone I have ever used.
It's really laggy and I will never buy other one on from LG period.
What are the plus points?
Anonymous, 07 Feb 2018You forgot to say it should be law for all phones to have ir blasters.IR blasters and FM radios are vastly different from removable batteries and short-lived screen displays, where early failure (by design or otherwise), will render a phone useless.

Governments need to institute laws against planned obsolescence. All phones should have removable batteries. All phones should have sd card support. Software update support should be at least 4 years. Screen life should be 5 years minimum. A phone manufacturer that doesn't comply with those basic longevity provisions should be fined heavily.
Macduff, 06 Feb 2018Is this the VERY last flagship with a removable back and battery?sadly, i think it is.
Is this the VERY last flagship with a removable back and battery?
Mostx10, 04 Feb 2018Does V20 support wireless charging ?The V20 does not need wireless charging because it has a vastly better option: removable battery and an OEM external charging kit. The V20's official external battery charger kit BCK 5200 is cheaper than OEM wireless charging kits and it charges faster than wireless charging without accelerating battery deterioration. The BCK 5200 accessory only costs $40 and it comes with a V20 OEM battery, a battery case and a regular charger. Just swap your V20's depleted battery with a fully charged spare and there's no need to be tethered to the wireless charger. The depleted battery can then be charged by the external charger.
Mostx10, 04 Feb 2018Does V20 support wireless charging ?unfortunately no wireless charging supported out of the box due to the metal backplate.
