Anonymous, 15 Jan 2023Will you recommend to buy fearly used one in this 2023?Actually wait I changed my mind, no. Anyone considering this should just get the V35. It's this but with more RAM, an upgraded SoC, and better cameras. The price difference is negligible.

Lately my LG V30 is breezing cold, only getting warm when playing some games. I noticed increase of battery life during the day, and often ended my day with 30% of battery left. Sadly the screen is not very nice as it getting older.

Still a very good phone and fantastic music player in 2023.

I will try to keep it as long as possible and maybe bought one LG G8 just in case.

$200 is probably a lot, when you can get pretty decent brand new phones around the $250 price range, just that I bought mine for about $800 at the start of 2018. On second thought, I'd probrably not recommend it. Lack of RAM makes daily multitasking slow and old OS isn't safe nor that usable, too many new apps/updates just break.

If you are okay with using custom ROMs, then you can get updates for it. Lineage 20 (Based on Android 13) is available for it now on XDA. Performance in day to day tasks is acceptable. Camera quality is good, but if you're using custom ROMs, be ready to process images by yourself since the available camera apps can't match the processing of the stock app, and for the most part, don't have god features or processing. Display is great, the phone itself is very light, build is great, size is almost perfect but charging, by modern standards, is a bit slow.

A personal huge plus is that it has a headphone jack and a SD card reader, so no compromise in audio quality and storage.

The only major concern would be battery life. These phone were made a while ago, so their batteries have degraded. If you are willing to take that compromise, given a decent price, it might be a good value.

My front and back glass are also smashed to pieces but the display works just fine. I wonder if P-OLEDs are more durable. Camera isn't cracked and works fine. (underwhelming by today's standards but works fine)

Fingerprint sensor also stopped working on mine like probably 2 years ago. They should've recalled them if this was an issue.

The screen on mine has zero dead pixels or burn in. Not even at the top where notification icons are displayed. I thought P-OLEDs might just be immune to burn in but I guess your situation proves otherwise.

                              RAM is 100% not enough.

Battery for me isn't great but I get about 4 and a half hours of screen on time in a day. The phone dies at about 2% and only starts draining a tad bit quicker than normal at around 7%.

Volume buttons work fine for me, like new. Charging port and headphone jack need to be cleaned or something because they both suck.

I've got Android 9.0 on mine. Gets the job done.

Would not recommend at $200, that's a pretty terrible price. You can get them for under a hundred on eBay.

Had this phone since it came out for about 5 years and the construction of the phone is superb. No other phone has survived past the 2 year mark before.

Screen and back is smashed to pieces but still works. A major plus compared to cheap phones that stop working at the first crack across the screen. Back panel is just about to pop off because the glue on the edges is barely holding on. Camera is cracked, knocked and misaligned so photos are a blur but still good quality in of itself.

Fingerprint sensor was superb, extremely quick, stopped correctly reading a few months ago, phone's disabled it now (even settings page has been removed) so just now a power button.

Screen is great but struggles in direct sunlight. Still great for movies and casual content. 1440p is crisp clear. Severe burn in and several dead pixels. A yellow hue all around, especially notifications and navigation bar.

RAM is not enough, 2nd app always goes to pagefiles. Slow, really bad for browsing as the pages are constaly reloaded.

Battery is on it's last legs. Some 40% health. Have to charge it around 4-5 times a day. At least only takes 15 minutes to charge to 60% (in reality that's some 25% factory) that will last me some 2-3h~.

Volume down is now loose and so is headphone jack, charge port.

For some people, 8.0 Android might be too old as some apps won't work. None that I needed. Struggles with multi tasking, especially now that every app is so much more demanding than they were back in 2018/2019.

5/5 phone. Would still recommend it to people if they found a good quality used one for like $200~.

I have the LG V30+, since 2018. The performance is still solid including the battery. The screen now is showing signs of burnt out, but doesn't really bother me. If it finally dies, might change the screen. Don't know yet see how it goes. But definitely the best phone I ever had.

I mean idk why you're even complaining about battery consumption. Phones no longer have little 3300mAh batteries. My Redmi K40 lasts me about 2 days at 120hz. While my 60hz LG V30 sometimes won't even get me through a day.
