Seems like V50 got the poop stick by that carrier and since they release their own carrier version software to nerf the phone capabilities, unless you can unlock it to other carriers, your performance will drop steadily or already does because the article is from may 2020.
Keep in mind the issues you are experiencing are only because the carrier changed things on their end not that the phone is being left behind.

have sprint version, using on tmobile. more and more the phone isn't ringing and sendng ppl to voicemail. maybe its the frequency change, tmobile has been warning me about it. i guess time for an upgrade

Anonymous, 06 Jan 2021Maybe you got a faulty phone coz never heard of those issues...No, it's fine, I think, it is from Sprint, new, 98% battery life, but those small problems go unnoticed by the average user and it could be software issues, or not.

azy, 06 Jan 2021Gotta tell you, thats a load of BS you are posting, any phone will pause for a second because ... moreno sir, I had the V10, V20, and just bought this, even the cpu freq. on the V20 was underclocked, probably to save the battery that drained quickly. Audio doesn't stop on other phones when shoot photos, obviously on silent or vibration mode, and it's worse using Bluetooth, weird sounds with multitasking, you can even totally block the signal with the palm of your hand!, check it by yourself.

yes I do have it on an sd card (bought a 1tb as card partly for this purpose as the lbf files are big and I was doing backups every day almost - you never know what can happen)
Hope it is not corrupted as you said
Have not got this phone yet but will try to install backup as soon as I do

If so you can put the SD card on the new phone and see if it can be restored. The size on the backup alone will give you an idea of what might be restored. Also check your google drive, older phones used to backup directly to google drive unless prevented to do so.

I have Es explorer that last version available because its discontinued, no issues. I havnt had a crash on LG ever, and i used it since v10- Stylus 3 - v30+ now v50, not a single crash.
All apps work, i have old discontinued apps that i moved using LG switch between phones and they all still work.
Dont post lies about LG.

LG has not improved anything in the last years. It has the performance of a Snapdragon 835, general speed and gaming. When you take a picture while playing music, it stops for a second, no matter music player or internal/external storage. It crashes a lot, notifications on status bar freezes, sudden black screen, apps not working, like nova launcher, es file explorer, pdf viewer. If you charge the phone while using it, takes

Is anyone using the Verizon version of this phone, on Total Wireless? The G7 and G8 both have WiFi Calling while on Total Wireless, and was wondering about this one

Anonymous, 04 Jan 2021Thank you.i had the LG g8x and it never got hot ..Yea, that one also has 2k res to avoid getting hot, at 2340x1080 its very unlikely it will get hot the V50 can have 3440 x 1440 at high res, its why on heavy usage the screen will feel warm, wont get in the way of performance tho. Like some other phones that slow down or cut calls to cool off. Can always back down to 2340 if you feel like it or even 1560, but that will defeat the purpose of LG screen quality.
Using high res on the V50 is about choice, for me to read its great, also for browsing on the web, writing stuff etc.

Quick question: does the LBF backup file from my LG G6 install most if not all of my se... moreYou should have no problem as long is not corrupted, LG switch will also move everything from one phone to another. either using a male-male usb cable then plugging both USB c from each phone or via wfi.
I moved all my stuff with lg switch, i cant be sure if it also moves the content in your gallery tho, so either back that up or put it in a folder to be easily moved.

Marty, 31 Dec 2020I was informed that the Sprint version of this phone will stop working on Sprint/T-Mobile in J... moreThe korean version am using, on top of being unlocked has access to all the band frequencies, but i think all V50 have all bands unlocked by default and its the carrier operators the ones that handicap one another to force customers to pick one of them. And not by bricking the phone itself but their sim chips. Try to search for a way to unlock your phone to another carrier if possible.
I avoid using US carrier version phones because of their carrier limitations, korean or european versions work worldwide most of times.

I was informed that the Sprint version of this phone will stop working on Sprint/T-Mobile in January when they drop 3G since it does not have VoLTE to make voice calls on 4G. Also, the Sprint 5G network is being shut down because of the merger and this phone only supports that 5G network. Does anyone know if any of the other variants have VoLTE? I love this phone and am sad to have to turn it into a paperweight.

Love it....Just had a relative get a new V60 No Dual, for $259...that's a Great deal for that phone!

Samples of GSMarena shows that it&... moreThe photo samples of smartphone reviews are usually taken in Auto mode, and LG's stock camera app is not the best when it comes to this mode. This is why their phones score low points in dxomark.
However, using the Manual mode, you can take way better photos. Basically in this mode you'll get the full potential of the phone's camera hardware, which is on par with the Galaxy S10. And if point and shoot is your style, you can install a modded Google Camera, load some xml presets and you'll have a point and shoot camera that is equal to or maybe even better than the Pixels.
Reddit and Telegram groups and channels are pretty good places to get more infos, download links and photo samples of the Google Camera.
