I daily drove the LG Velvet 5G for over 4 years until I switched to the S24 FE for better support and better performance. I'd recommend installing a custom ROM if you plan on using this phone any longer, as LG UX is getting outdated.

Hello, we have had an LG Velvet 5G for several years now. While it has been a rough temperamental often quirky phone, basic physical features worked...screen power buttons etc. Has a front screen protector which constantly bubbles from the rounded edges and does not stay on. Recently specific areas of the phone surface do not work...cannot type letter O for instance has to flip sideways or talk text ohly....almost a dead zone and to preview this, no dropping or other damage, no black spots on phone for dead pixels etc. Looks new without case and screen protector. Any forums to anyone's knowledge to bounce this off of? Seems there are not many and my Wife does not want to ditch the phone just yet as she is used to it. Thanks

The more time that goes on without those updates, the more vulnerable to hacks and exploits your phone becomes. I believe the Velvet stopped receiving security updates in 2021 when LG stopped making phones. So you have been using an increasingly insecure device for almost 4 years now.
You can get a phone that's about as good for less than $150 (like Galaxy A15), or spend like $250-300+ for a much nicer phone that'll probably last longer (like A35, A55, CMF1, N2A)
Hope this doesn't come off as rude to you, I just want to make sure you're informed and that you don't get your information stolen or something.

Seth Rollins, 28 Oct 2024Does this phone have any display issues, such as burn-in, green line, or display dead issues? ... morehello, its pretty late but my phone in 2025 seems to be okay. i have this thing for my daily driver and its a good phone. the only thing degrading is the battery as this is a four - year old used device. its okay for casual games and such and also a bit buggy for the latest apps and socials

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2024Mine has buttons falling off. Already lost 5 pieces. 🤣 Glad I bought more but I expect them to... moreUse the knock on screen feature. Helps a lot to reduce touch physical buttons then control it on screen. Mine is good, not a single button has fallen off.

LG V60 has a weak usb type c port.

Dr, 12 Mar 2024Mine is becoming increasingly slower and buggier, might be time for retirement soon 🤣Mine seem to be doing same after the last update but after backed up and factory reset it became fast as ever and the battery consumption seems to be better too.

Guys can you help me pick which one is better between this phone and Samsumg A72? My main focus was the display for good vibrant and accurate colour. And second was performance for multitasking, so far I was satisfied with two LG phone E440 and G6 even though they old, and I only found oppo a37f who can satisfied with vibrant display so I was looking a another phone with equal display. It really helpful if you guys can compare Velvet and A72 side by side in term display.
