check the cameras, OP8 and OP8T are way worse.
Anonymous, 02 Jun 2021Lg velvet 4g vs oneplus 8? Almost same price. OP8 has a much more powerful SD 865 processor, a better camera, and a higher screen refresh rate. You buy the Velvet 4G because you deeply value microSD card, headphone jack, and FM Radio. If you don't care about any of them, I would skip the OP8 and go for OP8T.
Shiblee, 12 Jun 2021Hi...if anyone can help me who is using LG Velvet 5G single sim version ...can I use microSDX... moreNo, you can't. It's software limitation i guess. There's 2 slots, but only one is for sim card.
asixyearold, 12 Apr 2021My wife and I have had 4 of these LG Velvet 5G phones. 2 originals and 2 replacements and I... moreYou got the T-Mobile version? Well that fully explains it. T-Mobile Velvet 5G runs on Mediatek Dimensity 1000C chipset, not the usual Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G.
Jonski, 17 Apr 2021Just found this - my perfect phone - seems like flagship at less than half the price. It has ... moreThe problem is that LG and other less popular brands have to fight against the ever-dominating Samsung and the top Chinese brands such as Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo. The Android smartphone market itself is already saturated with bucket loads of cheap phones with near-flagship hardware, so you do really have to justify yourself on why buying a smartphone that isn't from those top brands. And remember, 99% of people would mainly go for Chinese brands, particularly Xiaomi because of its Poco sub-brand.
Hi...if anyone can help me who is using LG Velvet 5G single sim version ...can I use microSDXC slot for 2nd SIM card?

Annabanana, 18 Apr 2021Not gonna lie. This phone has given me more issues in 3 months than my Huawei P20 lite did in ... moreGot a new S21 Ultra, I have that same issue.
It's an Android issue.
Lg velvet 4g vs oneplus 8? Almost same price.
This smartphone currently the best you can buy for under $300, considering that it still has at least 2 years of software updates from LG and that it is already running on Android 11. So it is guaranteed to get Android 12 and Android 13. And all that software and hardware for under $300 is crazy. You will not find a brand new, sealed device better than this for under $300.
Personally, when I saw how cheap it was, I immediately bought one.
Here is where you can find the LG Velvet 5G for $279.99: https://www.ebay.com/itm/383936740393
LG phones are time bombs suddenly locking up and not allowing phone or Google account recovery rendering the phones useless. They (LG) will refuse to replace or repair them despite their warranty and instead send users on endless runarounds knowing there is nothing that can be done but replace the new phone again at full cost. We're forming a class action to deal with them properly once and for all.
Hello Guys LG has my favorite UI and i use LG Velvet 5G on this days.
I found one mistake about Selfie camera on this website,Selfie camera supports 4K 30fps
Nbbear87, 22 Apr 2021I don't know what your talking about. I have the LG Velvet from Koodo and the update to ... moreDo you suggest me to buy one?
I don't know what your talking about. I have the LG Velvet from Koodo and the update to android 11 is solid and NOT lagging battery is great and I have a case from OtterBox for my Velvet.
I switch between the Velvet 5g (Canadian) and Iphone 11. I also use an A70 for casual browsing and kids videos (for my kids), since android 11, the Velvet 5G lags and minor hiccups. Battery isn't great but its definitely not awful. I use Velvet around the house and when I'm weekending, and media consumption (youtube, netflix) the LG 3D sound engine is no slouch, puts other phones in our house to shame. Sounds good enough for Youtube and Netflixing. Screen brightness is great for out on the deck, listening to music and reading. The Poled screen is nice enough, at 6.8" one handed use doesn't bother my large hands unless I'm tackled by a toddler, then my phone takes a tumble. The Iphone 11 definitely feels more secure for a work phone (handling drops better than a curved screen, both in cases).. Another point is protective cases for the Velvet are sort of lacking. No options for Otterbox defender, lifeproof, or Spigen other than that really slim one off amazon. Ended up using some aluminium one off Amazon. I upgraded from the Lg G6 to this Velvet 5G so its nothing but better. Briefly used the Samsung S10 but it was too small/differenty for someone who used more LG phones than Samsung. The Velvet is decently priced for a MID RANGE PHONE, which it is. Mid range 5g capable phone, priced as such. Its a good phone 7/10 only thing i would change is higher screen refresh rate, and some slight camera adjustments.
Not gonna lie. This phone has given me more issues in 3 months than my Huawei P20 lite did in 2 years.
Firstly - the baterry life is not it. I go to work with phone on 100% and by late afternoon it's below 20%. Battery saver helps but it's still not impressive.
Secondly - I've had issues with my alarm clock app. Within the first week I experienced this glitch where the alarm would go off but I'd have to go INTO THE APP to hit snooze or dismiss. Right now, I'm dealing with a bizarre thing where the timer won't work - I hit stop or resume and nothing happens. I hit +10 mins and it takes 10mins away? Into the NEGATIVE. Like.. what? (don't know if its possible but I have a screen recording of this that I can share so you can see what I mean)
Lastly (for now) - my gallery is SO SLOW to load. I just went and tested and it took EIGHTEEN SECONDS to load all of my albums onto the screen. I have lots of photos, but that cannot be an excuse for a smartphone to have trouble loading everything. I never had the same issues with my Huawei P20 lite.
Don't know if this is everyone's experience, but my mom got the same phone as I did and she also has some gripes.
Beautiful phone though.

Just bought it yesterday. Great phone, so sleek and beautiful, gorgeous display, excellent battery life - 7-8 hours SoT, rich sound. Maybe camera isn't class leading, but it's okay for me.
