I got myself this phone last week (30/July/2022) for the equivalent of $270. It really didn't take long for me to fall in love with this phone, especially its gimbal stabilization with full manual control. I also like how useful the second screen can be for touch keyboard and media playback, especially when watching YouTube and Twitch. Definitely worth getting one if you are a true gadget geek who loves to explore different types of smartphones.

Still have not received ver.12 ? What gives LG? My model is LM-FT100TM - US version.
Its still on Android 11, with June 1,2022 security update.
Can anyone please share latest on this ?

Literally NO ONE ELSE (not even GSMArena) hasn't written an article. But they've written an article about the Velvet and the V50 getting Android 12 updates in South Korea.

Mrwhosetheboss was raving about Nokia 9 PureView and how awesome the camera it is, but we all know how that turned out. Even the manufacturer ditched the phone altogether despite planning to push major Android versions for at least 3 years.

Tech Youtubers basically push those 3 (either getting paid off or for views). Also most top tech Youtubers are in or around America, the worst place for phone choice (again its Samsung, Google or apple with Sony or Motorola as back up). Funny because all the Youtubers love the new galaxy s22 ultra s pen and go on about 8k recording... 2 of the most useless gimmicks on a phone right now.

I don't think the LG G7 has gotten much love by the popular TechTubers either, but after recently owning one myself I am speechless at how good this phone is. Everything about this phone is solid, and I could imagine the same experience with the G8 too.

It's mainly because of popular sponsored tech YouTubers who always dismissed LG smartphones in general as a "gimmick". Just compare Marques Brownlee and Juan Bagnell's LG G8 video. It's a completely different universe altogether! Speaking of Marques Brownlee, his alongside Mrwhosetheboss video about "why no one buys LG smartphone" is a total SEO click cringe fest. That is why I have completely stopped watching popular sponsored tech channels, they bring little to no intellectual value to me.
