Peter 21 April 2020

Meizu Android

Meizu loves to tease – first it was hinting that it will reveal the Meizu 17 flagship on April 17, then April 22, now it turns out that April 22 is when it will announce the actual reveal date. Just get it over with, Meizu, there have been so many leaks and official teasers, what are you waiting for?

Speaking of official teasers, here’s a new one – it shows the Meizu 17 from the front. There are multiple images with various backgrounds, but the phone is invariably in white. The company says that this may be the only 5G phone with a white front bezel (an odd thing to brag about, but okay).

Another thing to notice in this teaser is clearly how thin the bezels are. Looking at them, it’s pretty clear that the display will be flat – there’s certainly none of that waterfall business here.

Also, you may have noticed the punch hole selfie camera in the upper right. We’ve seen that in live photos, there will be a battery charge ring around it. Anyway, see you again tomorrow so Meizu can finally settle on a date to release the full details about the phone.

Lame! What's so great about white front bezels? Are cheap Chinese manufacturers out of ideas?

Looks like the 17 will be a cut-down version (3 cams and 30W charging, probably 60Hz as well) and the 17 Pro will have 60W charging, periscope camera and 90Hz screen). Info says 17 will have 64MP GW1 with OIS I hope 17 Pro comes with the IMX689 o...
